  • Where in the UK can I buy Hot Rod Deluxe magazine?

I've found that I really like this magazine, but the only way I can get it is the occasional issue on a stall in Leicester market, and I can't find out where they're getting it from.

There doesn't appear to be any kind of subscription available, even in the USA.

Has anyone seen this magazine in their local shops, or does anyone know who might import copies to the UK?

  • Which vermouth should be used for a Martini?

I notice that there are a variety of different vermouths available (Martini seem to make three or four, for example). If I were making a Martini (with gin, not vodka), which should I use? Martini Extra Dry?

Should a different one be used when using vodka instead?

  • Where can I find a French-style butter dish/keeper in the UK?

I'm looking for a French-style butter dish (or butter keeper, or butter crock, or butter bell, there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the correct term), the kind where the butter goes into one container, and is then placed upside-down in a second container that has water in it, so the water stops air getting at it.

This is what I'm after: http://itotd.com/articles/215/french-butter-dishes

I can find links to people selling them in the USA, but apparently not in the UK. Where could I buy one?

  • Why do only certain places have signs warning you not to be abusive to staff?

Ok, you know those signs saying "Our staff have the right to work in a safe environment, anyone abusing or threatening employees will not be served" and similar?

Ever notice you only find them in places where you're likely to get wound up by long waits, poor service and rude staff? Sometimes all three?

What do you think? Seen these signs anywhere that's an exception to this?
