all those people who replied to my question, well done but still no concise answer.I want to see an accountant in charge of mps expenditure who has no public school friends or connections,no mates on the benches and cannot be bought with the promise of an entry into the lords for services rendered.To gain that end we need a public outcry not a whimper from the stalls but a voice which will reach a crescendo in the halls of power.Where is that voice ? Under the houses of parliament there is enough room to create a stadium.Why not create accommodation for living and eating for those politicians who need to stay overnight and let this be carried out by the military catering department with a resident paymaster to handle the finances of in-town tonight mps.This way they can handle meetings with dignitaries and return safely home to bed safe in the thoughts that they will not be having to work out their expenses because the hotel gave them a note to sign and this was then sent to the Paymaster who did all the nasty work for them,Simple.No more over expenditure.

considering the amount of money that is being paid already to mps as a salary is it fair that they should get expenses to pay for such things as travel, tvs,cookers etc,when the man in the street gets a wage and has to buy such items and pay travel expenses from his/her pitiful monthly income.Lets have a full public debate on the matter with an independant committee made up from working class people who put these parasites in the house of commons but who are not fully aware of how they are being fleeced by them.
