Need Help! I just adopted a brother and a sister kitten (7 months old), how do I make them more comfortable?
They were delivered by the shelter a few days ago, and they are still frightened/terrified. We put their litterbox, scratching post and bed in our bedroom closet next to food and water to let them get used to their surroundings. We have alternated holding them and petting them, with letting them just have their own space. But they are still so terrified every time we pick them up. And all they do is hide. :(
At first they wouldn't even go to their food and water...but we switched their food so now they are eating but haven't used the litterbox yet. It's like they are holding it in because they are so scared. I just want them to feel relaxed and comfortable. I don't expect them to be totally at ease and loving already, but I they were found outside and they never seem to want to be picked up...they just want to hide. Please help out with advice from people who have been in this situation, I just want to give them a good and loving home where they can be comfortable. Thanks! :)
