It's not all about me. It's about Him, Jesus Christ the Son of God, "... who loved me, and gave himself up for me" (Galatians 2:20b)

  • Does my “Microsoft” cordless mouse work on a PS/2 port (through a USB->PS/2 adaptor)?

My previous was a “Microsoft” wired one and it operates just fine this way; the new one (cordless) doesn’t (but it works fine through a USB port). The System does not even find a mouse on start-up and it prompts to connect a USB one right now, or a PS/2 one after turning off the computer. While trying to figure out what the problem might be, I think that at a point I got a message that said that the device conflicts with another.

Could it be it? Could the conflict be “peacefully” resolved?

I’m running 98 SE. My (~5years old) computer has 3 USB and 2 PS/2 ports. The USB slots are already “taken” by other devices while 1 PS/2 is still free. For the time I connected the muse to a USB port but I now have to swap between my printer and memory flash card on the 1 free USB port.

Oh, I also tried the printer and the keyboard but they didn’t work either on this port; Only my old wired mouse does.

    Can anyone help?

Thank you very much in advance.

  • Codepage incompatibility? Can anyone help?

I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows 98 SE. English (US) versions for both.

After upgrading, all the files that had greek characters in their filenames became unusable. All characters were substituted by underscores but the real problem is that the files are not recognized by the file system. While in the windows explorer, they appear in the list with their (underscored) filenames and details (file size etc.) but this is as far as it goes. If I attempt to rename/copy/move/delete I get the error message that the system cannot recognize the file (I think it ends with “ERROR 1031”).

I don’t know much about computers, but I presume that there may be a codepage incompatibility between my initial installation and the one I did recently (SE)? Perhaps while installing the SE version I was asked something about codepage stuff and I blindly pressed “ok”, although I don’t remember doing so.

So, does anyone have any fast, easy and safe idea on how to restore the files?

    Thank you in advance

  • (to those who ask about life after death): Do you believe in life BEFORE death?

Because, I believe this is the preceding question of the one that says “do you believe in life after death” which so many people ask, and usually with an honest spirit and suspense.

I believe that eternal life starts from this life and its name is JESUS CHRIST. If one believes in Jesus Christ as his/her Lord today, then the question about “life after death” becomes victoriously affirmative.

So I ask again: are you willing to believe today to the One who IS life before and after death?

PS. To those kind people (like myself once was) who like to mock, insult, and being rude, bitter, sarcastic and blasphemous in their answers: go ahead! Express yourself so everyone can see. Personally, I don’t mind. My Lord has gone through millionfold as much. “The servant is not greater than his lord”.

Thank you all in advance for answering and God bless you
