Why does this $5 bill have red serial number and treasury stamp?
I found an old 1953 $5 american bill, why does it have red serial number and treasury stamp? I have seen but not collected some of the old silver certificates and those are blue colors. So I wonder did they run out of green ink one week? Was it a statement of the condition of the economy? What purpose does (did) the red ink serve?

3 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWhat kind of fishing do you do in Scotland?
I'm from a small town in the USA near Lake Huron. I do a lot of brook fishing(trout),inland lake fishing for bass, pike, and pan-fish, and only minor fishing in the big lakes for salmon, steelhead, browns and lake trout. I doubt if I'll ever have enough money to go there to Scotland. Tell me: what do you fish for and what do you use?

1 AnswerOther - Cultures & Groups2 decades agoI need to identify a type of lamprey we found in the stream behind our house. Need to find a photograph.!?
The little thing is about 9" long and typically light brown. he sucker is very small at about a quarter inch diameter. We live in the upper northeast part of the lower peninsula of Michigan, and the stream is land-locked by dams. I don't think it is a sea lamprey. Is there a place I can identify this thing? Give me an ID from the description or a web site I can go to.
