  • taxes for a fundraiser (nonprofit) that might go international?

    Hi Folks!

I'm the head chaperone for a youth group. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization for young ladies. Over the past 2 years, my girls have been having an ongoing fundraisers in which we sell bracelet making kits to other chapters of our organization. It has been going extremely well and we have sold hundreds of the kits. However, our organization is international, and I've been getting requests from chapters in other countries (Canada, Brazil, Australia, and the Philippines) to make the bracelets available there. We are required to pay sales tax on the kits, and figuring all of that out has been fine, so long as we've been shipping to chapters in the US. However, what are the tax laws when shipping internationally? Is there some kind of website somewhere that can tell me about taxes and customs fees and other things like that? We want to stay as legit as possible and make sure we are following all the laws correctly. Thanks in advance for the help!

  • how do i know which wire is "hot" and which one is "neutral"?

I am looking at 2 sets of wire for 2 different lamps. I read on DIY that the neutral wire is supposed to be marked by something. At first I though they were talking about the tiny writing on one of the wires, but I'm looking closer now and there are ridges on the side of one. The writing is on the smooth wire on one set, and on the ridged side of the other set. Which one is the hot and which one is the neutral?

  • how to make a catchy flyer?

My boss and I just moved the business to a new area and we are trying to make a catchy flyer to send to local businesses. We want it to be something that the owners/ managers won't just throw away. Any ideas? So far its going to be full color on glossy paper, and we are mailing it to the businesses in a 9x11 envelope that will be addressed to the owner by name. We were kicking around the idea of maybe having a dollar taped to it, because our motto is "We support your success." (We sell Point of Sale software, support, and other business needs.) What would you look for in a flyer?

  • my joints keep popping?

My joints keep popping when I bend and straighten them. Elbows, wrists, knees, even my jaw sometimes. It isn't usually painful, except for my knee when I'm straightening it, and my jaw, which only happens rarely. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how I could get it to stop? It's really irritating.
