  • FMLA question help please!?

Ok I am 25 weeks pregnant and I have been at my employer for over a year and I meet all the requirement for FMLA. My son will have to have surgery in about two weeks and I know I can only take leave once in a 12 month period so I was planning on taking it and then just going back after the baby is born.So my question is if I take FMLA does my employer have to continue to give me my benefits (i.e. insurance, short/long term disability, vol. life)? I live in NC and I can't find much info online. Any advice would be great, Thanks in advance!!

  • One year old with milk protein allergy!?

My son was just diagnosed with milk protein allergy. I have searched and searched for healthy food for him and I am coming up with just a few options, we have switched to soy milk and I am just asking anyone that has been through this with help on exactly what to look for in foods like whey, casine, is those the only ones or is there more? Any helpful recipes for meals? I feel like my back is up to the wall I am trying to introduce table foods and I feel like there is not much out there with out the milk products. He loves fruits and veggies but I want to be able to feed him a well balanced diet. Any advice is appreciated, thank-you in advanced.

  • Having my son's adnoids remoled and tubes put in?

I guess my question is I needs some help understanding how my son will act and feel after surgery. I am really concerned about him being put to sleep. We are having these procedures done because he has sleep apnes and his adnoids are enlarged. The tubes are being put in because of six ear infections in the last four months. He is eleven months old and the procedures will be done the day before his first birthday, so I am wondering how he may act or feel after this is done. Please any parents that has been through this please inform me!!! Thank you!!

  • baby shots?

Okay my son is two months old and got three shots yesterday. He is now running a fever of 101.0. According to the papers they gave me, this is normal. My question is, did any of your babies run fevers with their immunizations and for how long?

  • Repeat C-section????

Okay I had a c-section about three years ago due to failure to dialate. I am currently 40 weeks pregnant and HAve not dialated yet either. My cervix has been soft for about a month or so and baby has dropped so I am scheduled for a repeat c-section on tuesday. What should I expect? I am having a spinal block done (hospital policy-I guess) So how ling will I be confined to the bed and just what should I expect? I know all the basics due to already having a c-section but what will be so much different this time? Anyone who has had a repeat c-section or that know of someone that has please give me a little insight.

Thank you for all those who answer!

  • 37 weeks pregnant.....?

Okay this may sound weird or even nasty to some but I am just wondering and I don't go back to the doc until the end of the week.

About a day or so ago I started having this milky white discharge, it is a good amount, could it be my plug or is it just discharge? When I went to the doc last week she seemed to think that I may have him soon, he is head down, my cervix is softening up and my cervix is half way down. I know that everyone is different and all that but has anyone else been told that and went into labor soon afterwards? Just curious and ready to meet my little man....

  • 36 weeks pregnant and went to doc today?!?!?!?

Okay I went in for a regular 36 week appointment today and the doc told me that the baby was deffinately head down and that my cervix was half way down. And that my cervix was soft and that I could start dialating at any point. My question is when she told me that my cervix was half way down does that put me at a zero station or is my body just getting ready? If anyone else has been told this then how long after did you go into labor?

I know that everyone is different and that every pregnancy is different but I am just curious. Just a little more info is that I am having contractions on and off but they are not regular and they are gradually growing in pain. So do you think that it may be soon?

  • Hostess Gifts?!?

I only have a few days to come up with something great to give to the three ladies that are throwing me a baby shower. I would love something that lets them know that I really appreciate them doing this for me. I thought about flowers but it is right here near valentines day and they are all going to get flowers from their husbands. Any idesa would be great. I would like to be able to give them these gifts the day of the shower. They have worked very hard to get this shower together and I truely appreciate it. I am willing to spend anywhere between $50-$75 on each of them. Any ideas are appreciated.

  • Breastfeeding?

I am totally devoted to breastfeeding my little guy. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and have a few questions because my family just always bottle feed their kids and I bottle feed my first baby. She is now currently three years old and I didn't breastfeed her because I was younger and had a crazy schedule.

Now I am a stay-at-home mom that is going to return back to work after he is born and I need to know the one thing that you used that you would recommend every breadfeeding mother to have. What bottles did you use when you pumped, and what pump did you use? Is a boppy necessary or does it just make life easier. How do I involve my husband in on feeding schedule? What was the best brand of nurding bras that you used, and when your milk did come in how much of a size jump did you go through with your bras? I am already a big cheasted woman and I don't want to go buy nursing bras that fit now and then a few days after he is born none of them fit. Just womdering an average so .....

I am 32 weeks pregnant and I didn't breastfeed my first child but plan on trying to breast feed the baby I am currently carring. I am trying to bet prepared for my showers and need to know some of the most essential things that I need. What was the brands of the best pumps or did you use one? Storage systems for your milk, what is the best brand? What is the one thing that you couldn't of lived with out? I just need to know the best things that I need. None of MY family has breastfeed so I have no one to ask. My in-laws have breastfeed but it was not a long term thing for them it was jsut as long as they could do it and most didn't make it past week five or six. I play on working out of the home after my baby is born so I need to know exactly what I need for preparing for those days as well. Thank you and any suggestions would be very helpful.

  • Please Help??!! Five weeks pregnant and an ultrasound??!!?

Okay i am currently thirty-two weeks pregnant but my sister is roughly five weeks pregnant. She went for her first ob appointment and they did a dating ultrasound. They found the sac but they couldn't find the baby inside the sac. The doctor told her hubby that there are two possibilities, one the baby is hiding in the fluid, or that there is no baby. Has this ever happened to anyone else or someone you know and how did everything turn out? Why would a baby not show up though they did a transvaginal exam too. I thought that these were better since she is so early. But I am tryng to prepare myself for the best and worst cases possible. I had a miscarriage but I was eight weeks along. I just need some feed back on what you think and why this may happen besides a chromosonal deffect or what. I know she does go back for another ultrasound at the end of next week but I just feel like I need more info because my family and I are worried to death about this whole situation. Please Help??!!??!

  • five weeks????

My sister went to the doctor this week and they estimate her being five weeks pregnant and they did an ultrsound but they said that they couldn't find the baby! Is it possible that at five weeks the baby is still too small to be seen with an ultrasound?

  • What would you do???

This is the case..... I know a girl who is a young single mother. But she can't provide for her child becasue of her addictions. She drops off her child with her mother (which is the best place for her baby) and is kinda neglecting the childs needs. This is just the outside perspective. I believe that she needs help but not very sure were to start. What would you do or say to kinda get her to realize her problems?
