  • No sound in vista, need new SoundMax drivers?

I have a Intel D845PEBT2 motherboard that uses SoundMax Cadenza drivers. I installed vista but the drivers that it installed (Intel 82801 DB AC97') do not work at all. The driver disk included with the motherboard will not install because it says it is an incompatible operating system. I've looked online for similar drivers but none seem to work. I am not getting a missing driver message in device manager. Anybody think they can help?

  • Air conditioner heat pump quote.?

Hi, I just had a guy come out for an estimate on my AC, it stopped working a couple weeks ago. It is old, about 20 years old, and he said it needs to be replaced. I know it is a heat pump and there is also a unit in the basement. The house is about 2500 sq ft. The quote seemed really high, about $7300, is that about right? I saw 4.0 units online for about $2000-$3000, but Im not sure if that is what I need or not. What do you guys think?

  • Will these asparagus roots grow?

I bought a bunch of asparagus crowns that arrived around Febuary. Unfortunatly, the landscapers who were building a raised garden for me disappeared. Long story short, I just got done putting the crowns into the ground now. They have been sitting in the box since they arrived, but some of the roots were moldy, but the main crown looked okay on all of them. I know it's late in the season, but what are the chances they will grow?

  • What companies use commodity options?

For a class project a group of us need to do a presentation on a company that uses commodity options in their business using real date on that company. They must use at least two types of derivitives. Manufacturing or farming would be my top choice, but it is hard finding out what they are actually buying and selling (as far as the actual products). Any ideas for a resource?

  • Investment homework help?

A strategy consists of buying a market index product at $830 and longing a put on the index with a strike of $830. If the put premium is $18 and interest rate is .5% per month, what is the profit or loss at expiration (in 6 months) if the market index is $810? A $20 gain B $18.65 gain C $36.29 loss D $43.76 loss. I know you will lose $20 or the buy and gain $20 on the put. Minus the premium for $18 you've lost $18, where does the interest rate come in?

This is obviously a hypothitical questions, I posted this last time and got a few answers about different stocks to invest in, and also that I didn't specifiy what the market index product is. This is a question that has to do with generic derivitives, so it could be a S&P Index or anything really. Sorry about the repost but I forgot the interest rate (.5% MONTHLY) last time.

  • I need an expedited passport?

I have been on the passport site, and applied for an appointment at one of the regional branches. The problem is I am traveling on April 8th and my appointment is for April 6th, which was the soonest they had. I was hoping to have someone in the know give me some information if this was going to be ok or not. Has anyone used one of those passport services?

  • Windows vista sound problem?

, this was a PC I built with an Intel Motherboard, it is pretty new, it

uses a 533 Bus with a 2.53 GHZ chip plus 1GB of 333 Ram. However, the

motherboard needs a soundmax program and others to work propertly, and when I

try to download those Vista says it is not compatible with the operating

system. Any thoughts? Will any new version of sound max work? Also, in the device manager it says the PCI manager needs a driver, is that something on the board? When I search the CD i don't see a driver for it.

I checked the driver and it says it needs an update, but there is none
