  • car accident question police?

So I was on an off ramp going from one highway to another. It was slick out. I was braking and exiting when my car shut down, leaving me without power steering or breaks. I started to skid, resulting in a collision with a gaurd rail. I called police, and a state trooper came. He was sort of rude and issued me a ticket for driving too fast for conditions, then wrote the report I needed for insurance purposes. He kept my license.

It just seems odd that he could issue a ticket without seeing my collision. Is that right/normal? Is it worth going to court to fight it once I get proof that the engine cut off has been an issue?

  • anybody good with taxidermy pricing?

i just really want to have something taxidermied. it just seems really neat, to have something ive hunted myself on display to treasure. and i realize that it is costly. but, does anybody know what the least costly thing may be? maybe a small bird or a small fish? maybe bluegill sized, or else finch-sized? i just really want to know what would be cheapest

    thanks

  • trouble with work help!!?

im in a pickle. i really need tomorrow off because i have a baseball game and i am going to get kicked off the team if i miss any more games because of work. ive already called today and explained my situation to store manager, and she said she cant find anyone else to cover for me and i need to come. i understand i may have not been as on-top of letting my job know when i can work and cant, and if this works out i will let everybody know exactly where i can be and when etcetera etcetera. so the trouble is how can i get out of work without making it too painfully obvious that im skipping for something else? did i sort of screw the pooch by calling?

  • question about a strange penny i found? coin collectors?

the penny is a 1979 penny and right above the year there is a stamp of the outline of the state of missouri and inside the outline the abbreviation MO can be seen. on the other side a very faint protrusion can be seen. is this just somebody's penny who had too much time on their hands, or is this a neat piece of history i have found?

  • what exactly does the USA's Navy do?

im sorry if this question seems a bit vague, but i had a little difficulty thinking of a good and succinct title.

i am a senior in high school, and im not sure what to do with my life. im not a bad student, but not a great one. so i could go to college, but im not sure if its for me.

i was talking with some friends about future plans, and one recommended i join the navy. it didnt seem like a bad idea, but i realized just how little i know about it. i know they do alot on the water, but other than that i really have very little idea.

so could somebody please tell me what exactly a person might do in the navy outside of high school? and what exactly the most basic navy troop (if thats what their called) might expect to do? do they even have troops?

thanks in advance and sorry if this question is a bit vague again

  • what would happen if...?

I bred a male pug and a female st. bernard? would the offspring be very unhealthy? has it been done before? i dont plan on doing this, im just very curious because those are my two favorite dog breeds and i imagine a mix of the two would be very cute and very lazy.

  • question about my paycheck?

we are supposed to get paid every other week at the place i work. i have direct deposit set up to a checking account. payday was supposed to be today, and i have not been paid yet. i just started the job the day after the last payday. is it possible that there is a one paycheck waiting period or something like that? or that direct deposit takes a little bit longer for funds to be deposited? this is my first job and i am a bit confused. it is a big box retail type place.

    thanks!

  • how long do pre-employment drug test results generally take?

i took a pre-employment drug test for Office Depot yesterday at a place called Labcorp, and i was wondering if anybody might know exactly how long it might take for the results to be sent back to Office Depot and how long it might take them to call me and let me know when to start. it was a urine test. yes i am absolutely sure that i passed it.

i know this isnt a poll or a survey, but questions in polls and surveys generally get the most answers and this same question in the correct categories arent getting any answers. so sue me! =p

I am 17 years old (18 in 9 days) and i need to take a drug test for a job interview. they told me that i need to bring an ID to the hospital they are sending me to. however, i have neither a state ID or drivers license. I asked my mother for my birth certificate or social security card, but she says that im not trustworthy enough to have either of those things. so what can i use? i have a school ID, but it does not have my birthday on it.
