  • Where does my dog go?

For the last 2 days my 4 yr old Miniature schnauzer has left for 5 hours the first day and tonight she was gone for 7! Each time I had left to take my son to work. She is usually really good about staying in the yard and with our outside dog that is tied up. Could she be following me? She is a timid dog and scared of everyone but us. I am so afraid she is gonna get hurt or stolen. I hate chaining her up, she hates it too. But looks like I'll have to to keep her safe.

  • Ring Guards on Emergency Stop Pushbuttons?

Can ring guards (shrouds) that prevent accidental operation legally be installed on emergency stop pushbuttons on industrial machinery in the United States? ANSI/RIA 15.06 clearly prohibits this, but this particular application (let's call it a conveyor system) does not have a robot. ANSI B11.19 and OSHA both refer you to the NFPA 79, which basically states that they must be readily accessible. Verbiage like "readily accessible" leaves a lot to a matter of opinion. I personally believe it's a bad idea to install such guards, but is it illegal? If you know it to be illegal, can you quote the regulation or standard that prohibits it?

  • Dodge Ram Drivetrain Noise?

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with about 113K miles on it. The front end just began making noises ranging from a repeated "GRRRRUMP" to a more constant grinding noise. The noise lessens, and sometimes goes away almost completely at 60-70 MPH. The noise is completely non-existent in 4WD, which made me think it could be in the transfer case, but the noise also changed sounds once while I was turning, which made me think it might be a CV joint. I haven't been under it yet for any diagnosis, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem?
