  • Is GE the new Haliburton?

The people involved are different, but isn't the scenario the same? Big business in bed with government.

  • Is taxing the rich more than others a form of discrimination?

Doesn't the constitution say that all people are to be treated equally under the law? How does singling out one class of people (in any social scenario) with current tax laws fall in line with the principles the constitution was based on?

  • Why do Liberals focus so much on equity of distribution in the economy?

The poorest in our country have a higher standard of living that most of the middle class of many other nations. All I ever hear, though, is how wrong it is that not everyone has the same amount of money, and how being rich (even if you donate significant percentages of it to charity) is by default an evil thing.

  • Why do people site the Bible when answering topics completely unrelated to religion?

Many people have the habit of siting the Bible as their reason for the answer that they provide without siting where in the Bible they found such an answer. I'm religeous and believe the Bible has answers to many of the problems of today, yet I understand that the Bible does not specifically address all of todays issues. It does, however, provide principals upon which a person can choose for themselves how they wish to govern their lives. Simply siting the Bible merely makes a person wonder if the respondant has actually studied the Bible enough to use it as a source in their arguments. By believing in the Bible without actually having a very good idea of what it says and where it says it leads a person to be easily mislead by those who would manipulate their ignorance for their own gain. The ultimate question to those who simply say, "the Bible says so," and not where in the Bible, is: Do you worship God and Jesus Christ, of whom the Bible testifies, or do you worship the Bible?
