  • Does anyone have any interesting ideas for ways to lead a class discussion?

I have to lead a class discussion in my Evolutionary Biology class presenting an argument for Evolution (peppered moths) and its rebuttal argument. This discussion has to be about an hour long, and all of the other groups that have gone have been horrible. I want mine to really work and try and get the other students involved and engaged in the topic (which is hard 6 weeks into the quarter). I would love it if someone could give me a few ideas to take my presentation/discussion to the next level.

  • what are some things i should definitely do before i'm 30?

i'm 28, and i've been in school and working for so much of my adult life that i really feel like i've been missing out on a lot of things. i'm compiling a list of big things (go on a road trip through a minimum of 5 states), and small things (learn to change the oil in my car) - that i want to do before i turn 30 in two years. i would love any suggestions, no matter how simple or complex they may be :D

  • can you recommend a drink for me?

i'm trying to branch out a little bit over the new year, and i would love to start trying some new drinks, and would appreciate any suggestions. i like midori sours, guiness, hard cider, and don't like rum, coconut, or mint...and, well, that's about it...i don't experiment very much, but i would like to give my tastebuds a jolt.

  • what does tuna (like in a can) taste like?

i'm a really, really picky eater, so even though i'm in my 20s there are still a lot of foods i've never tried (and am, frankly, scared to try). i was thinking about trying tuna because i need a protein supplement, and thought that would be a good option. i just want to be prepared for what it will taste like. thanks.

  • How do I contact a gallery about showing my work?

I am a painter, and I just recently put together enough work (I think) for a possible gallery show. How do I go about approaching galleries in order to show my work? Are there places that specialize in new or unknown artists?

  • Does anyone have any natural remedies for dealing with seasonal allergies?

I always get hit hard when things start blooming - red and itchy eyes, fatigue, coughing, etc...The only over-the-counter that helps is Benadryl (but that puts me out of commission). I can't really afford expensive allergy shots and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

  • Does anyone know when the next Tad Williams book is coming out?

I'm a huge fan - but neither his website nor his publisher's website is giving me any clue when his next book will be coming out. I am especially interested in his Shadowmarch series.

  • What is the proper protocol for contacting Art Departments?

I am a soon-to-be graduating Graphic Design student and I have a pretty strong portfolio. I'd like to work as a freelance illustrator for children's magazines or similiar. Any suggestions or comments on the best way to go about making contact? Should I get an agent to represent me?

  • how much does hair weigh?

Its something I have always wondered - especially because my own hair is pretty thick and long (longer than 24 inches).
