  • What Would Cause a Sudden Acceleration in Reverse?

I was backing vehicle into my driveway and the following events occurred. 1. Pulled forward into my yard (uneventful). 2. Stopped the car (uneventful). 3. Shifted auto trans into reverse (uneventful). 3. Applied minimal pressure to accelerator... and suddenly the car accelerated itself to a much faster speed. 4. I was in reverse and out of control of the vehicle going at a very fast rate of speed. 5. I instinctively began slamming on the brakes, but there was absolutely no response at all, not even a slight slow down, it was like pushing air. 6. I was 1 FOOT away from the house when I just grabbed the shifter and moved it to anywhere but Reverse and I was able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. 6. Too shaken to even see what gear I shifted into, I just put it in park and left it, 1 Foot from the house. Brakes are fine. Google results show this happens quite often with various cars, but there seems to be no solution mentioned.

  • Unexplained weight loss, is it a possibility that?

Plase note: I tried this in Diet and Fitness, but only received generic spam answers. I am not trying to lose weight, so this is not an intentional result.

I am hypothyroid and a type 2 diabetic. In the middle part of October of this year, I donated blood to the American Red Cross. However, before accepting a donation, they are required to check your iron level. I was 1 number away from being anemic according to the RN who was screening me. So, a few days later, I began a simple daily regimen of taking a "complete multivitamin from a to z", containing no "extra anything". It is now mid December, and my clothes are no longer fitting properly, as they are too big. I have to keep pulling my pants up when walking. My appetite has decreased somewhat, but nothing significant, I am not doing anything out of the ordinary, such as more exercise, and really have not been under any stress. So, other than taking the daily vitamin, I haven't changed any other aspect of my day to day routine. The only other thing that I would like to add is that my systolic number has climbed from 118 to 130, but diastolic has remained unchanged for the most part. Simply put, do you think that this daily multivitamin is allowing or, perhaps causing my weight loss? Please note, that my TSH is normal and so are my glucose tests (2x daily @ 90 - 110). Total weight loss is 20+ lbs.

  • App to Export IE Bookmarks with CSS Format Option?

I am searching for an application that provides CSS styling options during exportation of my Favorites from IE. I want to store my bookmarks locally, so online bookmark services are not an option. IE exports favorites in a way that takes too long to clean up.

(Me) *Female, 41, Type II Diabetes (80 - 120 glucose readings consistent), Hypothyroid

Complaints: pitting edema (more on left ankle site than right ankle), cramping in the area on left side where the femur joins to the torso, morning eye puffiness and dark circles underneath eyes, morning paleness (have to rub my face to get color back in) tingling - prickly feeling in both feet, tiredness, slightly elevated blood pressure, slight loss of normal coordination.

Symptoms DO NOT include: chest pain, neck pain, ,unusual sweating, nausea, swollen or red joints, twitching

If you have any reliable knowledge as to whether these complaints are related to one another and could maybe point me to an area to research further, I would be most grateful. Thank you in advance.

  • Searching for a Specific Wilted Spinach Salad Recipe

I am looking for a specific Wilted Spinach Salad recipe. I believe my sis said that she got it from a show on The Food Network, I just don't remeber which one. I cannot find this particular recipe on foodnetwork.com . At any rate, the ingredients that I do remember are real freshly cooked bacon (cut into bits), fresh bacon grease, cherry tomatoes, raspberry vinaigrette dressing, grated cheese (white, nor sure which kind), fresh uncooked spinach, and walnuts. I also know that there is no ketchup, sugar, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, eggs, or mushrooms. It's a pretty simple - few ingredient recipe. I am not much of a cook, so I need this specific recipe. It is served immediately after you pour the hot bacon grease over it. I thank you so much in advance for your help.

  • How To Unlock Computer Case - Legitimate Reason?

There is an older lady that lives in the apartment above me. She has asked me to install a network card (no available usb ports). The metal case has a tumbler cam 1 pin lock on the removable side panel. The computer was given to her, it is older and a local custom build, so there is no manufacturer to contact. When it was given to her, a key did not come with it. I have removed the bezel to see if I could detach it via the front, but no way to get past that area either. I have tried the Bic pen cap trick, it is not a 7 pin lock, I don't have any lock-picking tools, wiggled a paper clip in the pin hole, I have googled for a solution as well, and youtubed as well, but I cannot find any way to unlock this lock. I would like to be able to remove this panel without destroying it. My question is: How can I open this lock? Please only answer if you are familiar with how to do this. Thank you in advance.

  • Dual Monitor Config - Confirm This SetUp Please?

I have an LCD monitor VGA only, and a CRT (obviously VGA). Rig has GeForce 6600GT AGP (VGA, DVI, S-Video). Running Vista Home Premium. Questions: 1. Will Vista support this setup (I know my card will)? 2. Do I need anything other than a Male DVI to Female VGA Adapter (In Order To Utilize Both VGA and DVI Connection)? 3. Or do you think it is better to use a VGA splitter? 4. Also, does Vista allow different content on each monitor or does it have to be split view of desktop or windows... etc.? This is my first time out with dual monitors, so I want to get everything in one whack or not get anything if Vista doesn't support different content on each monitor. Please don't answer if with "Vista Sucks", "Get XP". This is what I have to work with.

I have played with all settings on the monitor to no avail. I have tried windows display settings as well as NVIDIA control panel - still no fix. Lower resolutions display as horribly blurry. I have installed and uninstalled drivers after each attempt to resolve, such as changing my BIOS and installing drivers.

(sorry, i didn't know how else to do this, and no, it is NOT spam) I am just so desperate for an answer...

Hello. I am a 40 yo female. I was diagnosed with type2 diabetes in January and my a1c is great, 5.9 . Sugar level stays between 80 and 110 . I take 60 units twice a day of 70/30 novulin. I do have slightly elevated bad cholesteral. Doctor prescribed simvastatin, I took it for a few weeks, however the side effects were too uncomfortable, so I ceased use of them. I am also hypothyroid (for 18 years). Current dose of levothyroxin is .175 . I was taking .2, however doctor said she thought my tsh warranted a lower dose. I am not actively involved in any sports and have had no injuries.

  • A Bit of Good News 4 Me, Please Read?

Back in January this year, I went to ER and was consequently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes (glucose 914) and kept in ICU for about a week to stabilize. My a1c was 12, i was discharged with instructions for 60 units of 70/30 twice a day, as well as sliding scale for secondary insulin and advised to check glucose 3 times a day at a minimum, along with a very strict diet ( which i am sure you all know all about :D). Well, today I am happy to report that I keep my sugar between 80 and 110 and never have to take the sliding scale dose. I do not exercise like I should, but I am also happy to report that with my lifestyle change since diagnosis, I have lost 16 pounds and still losing in a healthy manner. I am not fasting just eating less carbs and smaller more frequent meals. ( I used to eat medium size meals but only twice a day.) So, I am proud of myself and will continue on this path for the rest of my life. Thank you for reading this.

Does yahoo webmail and it's Norton AV not allow the attachement of .tar files? Yahoo says, "cannot attach, file infected", but I have a clean machine and have had others download it from my host and scan with other AV and it is totally clean! It is a sysdump.tar that I am trying to send a software publisher to do some troubleshooting. My machine is clean, I have scanned, hi-jack this, and spysweeper, and am in excellent shape.
