Anyone else having issues with google not coming up? isthisdown.com says it is up, however, I am unable to ping it. I'm not having any issues with any other sites.
Results are same in IE, Firefox, and Opera

i am so glad i found this question/answer. I too can't access google nor facebook...and I have charter. I was getting email updates from Facebook...so I knew SOME people had facebook because comments on my wall were coming thru this morning. So that was really confusing...But now I see it is most likely a charter problem. Still a pain...but at least I'm zero-ing in on the problem hopefully.

This morning I could not access Facebook, Google, or msnbc.com
I am on Charter
I live in TN (Charter said the problem was in TN when I called their outsourced tech support)
I was able to access other sites but some were slow.
How can there be an outage that only effects certain servers?

I am having the same problem and I have charter communications. So far it is affecting google and facebook.
Update called Charter and of course got an outsourced "customer service rep". They are trying to tell me that it is my system and not theirs. ARG!!!! No wonder they filed for bankruptcy!
Update: they finally told me to change my DNS and that worked but man it took over half an hour.

I've been having that problem all morning. Even some pages I can get up have ads and banners that are saying service unavailable. Glad to know it isn't just me. I am on Charter. No big surprise since they charge ridiculous amounts of money and customer service and is so horrible.

I was just on gmail and google. Both are working fine, you may have a problem with the server at your school.

Make you sure you spelled everything right, and if it still doesn't work, try this. Delete all the letters in the address bar (where you put www.etc.com). Copy and paste this in. www.google.com If that doesn't, I have no idea what to tell you.

It's fine, maybe it was doing maintenance, all you can really do is:
1. Restart your laptop
2. Disconnect and re-connect to your network
