  • How to explain reason for leaving on application and in interview?

I got terminated from a job after working for 3 months. There was change in management and I was not pleased with my training before they changed my schedule. They were also not fully training me in other departments as I expected; they thought I didn't have enough self-confidence.

HR where I worked says that they don't answer whether you quit or got fired, and they don't answer the question about being re-hireable, so someone I am working with to get a new job has told me not to say I was fired but explain about change in management and they were keeping the new graduates that performed their internship at that hospital. I am a recent graduate; this was my first job and I did my internship elsewhere.

However, I would like to explain about how I am not pleased with my training, but how do I word this so as not to sound as I am badmouthing my former employer?

Anyway, I feel I wasn't given a fair chance, but am hoping for a better job elsewhere.

Please advise me on how to explain my dissatisfaction with my training in a positive way, or I will probably just go with the change in management explanation.

    Thanks!

  • I had a horrible experience with college TA but didn't have chance to evaluate her. Who would I complain to?

She made me feel uncomfortable, staring at me often with nasty looks on her face like she hated me. I fear she had a problem with me because I have a weight problem or that I fear she thinks I am a lesbian (which I am not)?

I have no proof as to how she feels about me, but she shouldn't get away with her rude behavior. She was moody and made me feel uncomfortable. What should I do next? Sorry, if I come across as a whiner; I am sensitive and it has bothered me this whole semester. So, serious answers only! Thanks!

  • Genetics: Linkage problem?

I need help with the following problem; it regards Drosophila (fruit flies).

Mahogany eyes and ebony body are 25 map units apart on chromosome III.

A female fly with mahogany eyes is crossed with a male fly with ebony body. The resulting F1 phenotype wild-type females are mated to mahogany, ebony males.

Need help figuring expected phenotypes and expected numbers out of 1000.

I am having a hard time getting genotypes from crossing the ebony body males and mahogany eye females and then figuring the genotypes of the F1 generation to figure out this problem.

I am frustrated. Help will me very much appreciated.

  • I strained my ankle? I keep injuring myself while working out?

I went on a walk a few days ago. I walked up two large hills, and I have done it before, but this is the first time I strained my ankle. It is not getting better on its own. Other than icing it and wrapping it, what can I do? (I will see a doctor if not better by Monday). I injured another muscle last year on an elliptical trainer, and it has not fully healed even after physical therapy. I am just trying to get healthier. I stretch after workouts. What else do you think I should be doing?

  • Melting point question?

In my chemistry class, we were supposed to identify the unknown which could have been acetaminophen, acetanilide, or phenacetin. We got 45 degrees Celsius for the melting point of this unknown. When I research the Internet for the melting point for acetaminophen, acetanilide, and phenacetin they were all higher.

Could anybody please explain why I have a lower melting point then all three of those compounds?

  • These unique boy and girl names...What do you think?

I LOVE pinnipeds; seals, sea lions, fur seals and walruses.

I want to have my son or daughter to be named after them to a certain degree. I am not pregnant, just plans for the future.

    For girls...

I like Phoca (it is the genus for many of the true seals. ie Harbor Seal - Phoca vitulina. Her middle name will not be vitulina. Don't know what that will be at this moment. Concerned that kids will tease or mispronounce to a swear word. Pronounced Pho-ka. Concerned this is the most dorky.

Second...spelled Seala or Sealia or Sealea (pronounced like Celia, just spelled different). LOVE it! Don't care if u think its dorky. If not Phoca, it will be this.

    For boys...

Zalophus.. Don't know how to pronounce will find out b4 naming. Is the genus for the California c lion. Like this best. Kids can call him Zal for short.

Eumetopias...Don't know pronunciation, will also find out. Genus for Steller C Lion.

Please don't let this be a sudden craze to name kids these names.

  • A recipe for French Onion Soup, vegetarian style?

Is there any one with a recipe for a vegetarian french onion soup? I have tried to make it before but it did not turn out right. I will vote for the most detailed and best-tasting recipe as the best answer so do a good job. Detail on the type of cheese, how to caramelize onions, the bread, the seasonings, and of course, I already gave vegetarian stock. No need to tell me how to make veggie stock; I will buy it from the store. Thanks!

  • Does anybody think that reading/liking/or watching (the movies Harry Potter will make kids evil or go to hell?

One person I have been friends with thinks that kids will be evil by any type of exposure to Harry Potter. I don't think there is any statistical evidence to back up this claim. I think children will be be no more evil or spoiled than they already are... It depends on their parents or upbringing.

Judging someone based on their religion today is hypocritical; this stupid person said JK was a witch when two others have told me she was a Christian. For me, I could care either way. Harry Potter is for entertainment purposes only, and in my opinion is quite enjoyable.
