What would you say is this person's condition?
I have a friend, well she used to be my friend but that's not important right now, that feels she has to be the center of attention and that people must do whatever she says. I made her upset by telling her that she can't really go through life trying to guilt people into doing what she wants. That probably wasn't the best decision on my part, but I didn't feel I had much choice. She told me that I have to apologize to her.
This is what she does, she doesn't ask you to do things, she tells you. If you disagree with her she resorts to childish name calling and declares herself better than you. She can't be wrong, and if something doesn't happen the way she wants it to happen she cries about it for two weeks. That's not an exaggeration. She cries all the time.
In short, she's manipulative and immature. Does she have an actually psychological problem, or is she just ignorant and spoiled?
If you need more information about her, I'll be happy to provide you with it.
3 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoMobile Suit Gundam Fans: What Gundam series am I thinking of?
When I was in like the 6th grade I watched a Gundam series, and now I can't remember what one it was. I know they were on Earth, it was relatively short, and there were guerrillas that attacked them. I know that the last episode ended with the main character walking out of a mine shaft that had collapsed, with crutches and bandages and that was the end of the series.
I'm think it might be Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, but I'm not positive. Does this sound right?
2 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoWhat should I name my band? (Death/Doom/Thrash Metal)?
I know there are thousands of these questions posted everyday, but we (myself and the other band members that have actually come up with something) can't think of when that we all really like. Here's what we have so far:
Demon Theory*
drive by stabbing*
Reyes (note this means "Kings" in Spanish)*
Fear Oragami*
Generation Kill*
Laceration*
Locust^
Hell Bat (mine)
Kvlt (just had to do it) (sort of a joke, but maybe)
Doorchfall (joke one)
Skeletor (mine, actually not a band name yet, odd)
*=not mine
^=combination of myself and our other guitar player
6 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWho has had the greatest positive influence on society, Paul McCartney or John Lennon?
I would say John Lennon because he was more active about things that he stood up against. It wasn't just all talk, you know? He did something, and inspired others not to stand idly in the face of tyranny.
8 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoIs it legal to state announcements for a local church during the morning announcements at a public school?
My school does it, everyone with the exception of myself and a handful of others are Christian. I am an Atheist, and the others I was speaking of are either Atheists or Agnostics.
Is it legal for them (the high school) to allow such announcements to be made and to have the local church sponsor school events such as dances?
The same church also put up a large sign across from the exit of the school with bible verses and the usual things one would find on a church sign. It's on private property but it's still offensive to me that it would be there. I can't petition because there is no one to sign said petition. What should I do?
THERE ARE TWO SEPARATE QUESTIONS HERE.
8 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoAs Christians, do you feel that you are persecuted for your beliefs?
I live in a town in Texas that has a population of 521 and 12 churches. I am a proud atheist, and I know of only two other atheists at my school. I know of many people who when asked about their personal beliefs on God and religion say that they "just don't know anymore." But for the most part my entire school is Christian. While they are different sects of Christianity, they are all Christian. Not a very diverse bunch of people.
Recently a church was built about a quarter of a mile down the highway from the High School. There are many students from the high school that attend that church. So many in fact that for a period of time they would make announcements for the church at school, which I didn't think they could do but what am I going to do? I also didn't know that the church was allowed to put a giant sign across the highway from the exit of the high school where you have to see it. A sign with bible verses printed on it.
I first declared myself an atheist, after not caring

9 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoAre human beings really the greatest creatures on Earth?
I recently got into an argument on whether or not humans are really so vastly superior to animals. Her argument was that animals can't talk, they don't have feelings, and they can't create tools like human beings can so they are inferior. My argument consisted of pointing out that animals can communicate with each other, and several cases have been made to argue the fact that animals do indeed have feelings. I also used Darwin's observations on the finches on the Galapagos Islands, stating that animals ability to adapt to overcome certain anatomical adversities evens the playing field. She is a devout Catholic so she told me that Darwin is a crock and God created all.
What I'm asking here is whether or not you believe that animals are truly so inferior to humans on an intellectual scale, or have they merely adapted to a point that fulfills all their base necessities? Are we only the dominant beings because we lack the ability to adapt and overcompensate for that through invention?
8 AnswersZoology1 decade agoWhat the F word is up with the government?
Why do they always seem to try to censor things that would might offend someone? If that person has time to complain and write a threatening email then they should get a life and get over the fact that they heard the F word on TV at 10 pm. I believe Lewis Black put it best when he said something to the effect of "the leaders of the free world sit in their chairs overlooking the planet and making decisions on how to handle terrorists and people considered to be a global threat, but as soon as some says Sh-- they drop everything and cry 'Why didn't he just say poopie?'"
1 AnswerOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoMy computer says I need to install drivers for my external hard drive, how do I do that?
Due to the small size of my internal hard drive and the large amount of memory that I need for files and programs I got to the point that I was saving everything to my external. Now my computer won't recognize it as anything but an unknown USB device. I found out that my computer says there are no drivers installed on my external so it won't read it. I need to install drivers for it so I can recover my lost files. It's a Maxtor One Touch 2.0 USB 160 GB External hard drive.

7 AnswersMusic2 decades agoWhat song is this?
In the darkest hole, you'd be well advised
Not to plan my funeral before the body dies, yeah
Come the morning light, it's a see through show
What you may have heard and what you think you know, yeah
Let the sun never blind your eyes
Let me sleep so my teeth don't grind
Hear a sound from a voice inside
Sure to play a part, so you love the game
And in truth your lies become one and same, yeah
I could set you free, rather hear the sound
Of your body breaking as I take you down, yeah
Let the sun never blind your eyes
Let me sleep so my teeth don't grind
Hear a sound from a voice inside
In the darkest hole, you'd be well advised
Not to plan my funeral before the body dies, yeah
Let the sun never blind your eyes
Let me sleep so my teeth don't grind (2x)
Hear a sound from a voice inside
