Would a lawyer be able to help me or would it be an additional expense. To negotiate they want one lump sum which I do not have and can not borrow. If I can't make a lump sum they want quite a substantial payment monthly to cover the full amount. I want to avoid having my wages garnished since I barely make my monthly bills. I noticed that many times I hear people say "John wanted to give Joe and I the money". I ws always told to make it singular "John wnated to give me the money" but I still hear it said with an I. Is it ever correct to use these pronouns in a direct object position?

If I file a joint tax return, can the IRS withhold the the refund and stimulus check even if my husband (who has been paying the arrears but still owes) has not worked or contributed any income or with holdings?

My son was emancipated but my husband owed arrears. The judge set an amount per week to pay off the arrears. If he is making regular and on time payments, will his IRS refund still be held and given to me to pay off the debt?
