What do people generally understand "hot and bothered" to mean?
I'm looking for opinions rather than a dictionary definition. In fact, I know what the dictionaries say. When I first used this common idiom in the USA I received a certain reaction. What do the majority of you generally understand my meaning to be when I say, "I'm hot and bothered."

Does anybody know (or believe) that the Harriet Derbyshire character name is a reference to Delia Derbyshire?

Do you prescribe to Christian doctrines simply because that is what you have been taught, it's part of your family tradition, or you never considered an alternative?
Or, have you actually put an ounce of thought into your reasons for being a Christian? Explain to me your train of thought on the subject and why you can't accept any other possibility. After all, we now know that magicians are simply clever illusionists and that the stars were not 'painted on'.
Please explain, and you must give examples, how you came by the ultimate conclusion that god/jesus are real, and the universe is not something that merely "happened by accident". What books, authors, philosophies have you read to back up your umbending belief in your dogma?
Anyone who does not cite examples or resorts to circular logic will be considered a noodle without a brain in their heads. One sentence answers will be similarly judged.
I want to know what makes you tick.
