How to house-train a dog that is scared to do her business outside.?
I have been taking my dachshund puppy on long walks that last over an hour. With my last dog, who passed away (same breed), I was successful in getting her on the walk to do her business. This dog holds it in and waits until we return then makes a mess in the kitchen. I have been rushing her outside after the accident and explaining that we do not go inside. I think she does this because she feels more secure in the house. How can I correct this yucky problem. People say you have to make sure to stay outside long enough for the dog to do her business, but in this case I stay a super long time. She is holding it in. Anyone have any ideas! Thanks.
4 AnswersDogs8 years agoPlanning my next trip to be to Finland. What should I see?
I have done two backpacking trips across Europe that have lasted for 1 1/2 months each. I have gone to Sweden (was born there) and Norway (yet recognize that their is still tons more to see in both countries. I tend to stay in IYHA hostels as I am a member and they have good rates. What are the top main things that I should see.
1 AnswerOther - Europe1 decade agoI find that at least 3 roaches a week come up the drain from the city sewer line. Any removal suggestions?
They come up my bath tub and thru my dishwasher. I am really disgusted with the dishwasher. Any suggestions on how to keep them out!

8 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoIs it ok to take an extra B vitamin daily with a centrum multi vitamin.?
I suffer from the rare B12 vitamin deficiency (get anemic as well) and occasionally get a neuralgia spot on my head that hurts bad. The neuralgia sopt radiates a shooting pain from my head. This is cured with some B vitamins for a number of days.
I am sporadic in taking vitamins but am resolved to start taking them on a daily basis and was wondering how much B you could take since centrum gives 100% B12.

2 AnswersGarden & Landscape2 decades agoGrowing pecan trees?
My mother's goal was to plant a extra lane full of pecan trees. Due to the drougth that has made things difficult. However we have put in a soaker hose system on our row of trees and hope to keep the remaining trees alive. The soil is a rocky soil as we live in a hilly area. It has become very difficult to keep the trees alive. They always seem to look parched for water and shrivel up and die even on the soaker hose system. My question is this..is their anything else we can do? How often should we water the trees? Do they need to be feed anything. My grandmother years ago planted two orchards and those trees are old about 40 years and healthy.
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape2 decades agoDog Question?
I have a minature daschund that is 6 months old. I love her so much. Her personality is great! However is is very spirited-willfull and doesn't listen to me at all. I will let her out at my mother's house in the yard when I go to visit for the weekend. Because of the coyote problem and her being very little I have to keep her inside at night. She refuses to come in when called because she is not ready to quit playing. It always ends up with me chasing her around the yard until I catch her and bring her in. She thinks my chasing her is one big game and continues to have fun. The same thing happens in my apt. Say it is time to take a car trip and she doesn't want to leave the house then she hides under the futon until I catch her. How do I get her to listen and understand that when I call she has to come.

I am looking to buy a camcorder as my sister is graduating from HS, my friend from college, and me from college in spring 07. I am researching what the best camcorder is in terms of color. I think I either want to go the MINI DVD route or the hard drive route. I heard with the MINI DVD you only get 20 minutes recording time- not long enough in my opinion. How much time is it with the plug into your computer hard drive burner type? And what brand would you recommend that I get? Are they very expensive or in a good price range?

1 AnswerOther - Society & Culture2 decades agoI have a 5 month old daschund puppy who is in the chewing phase mega time?
My question is this what kind of chew toys have you found to be the absolute best? I want some toys that my dog will play with for more than 10 minutes at a time as she keeps chewing and chewing for about 30 to 40 minutes at a time. I have tried allot of the various rawhide chew bones but I think that she is getting tired of those.
5 AnswersDogs2 decades agoI was also wondering if someone had any ideas on how to break a dog of going poop in the house?
My dog will do her business outside but tends to do an extra job inside on my carpet, only poop. She is very trained and never has any wet accidents in the house. Any way I can train her to tell me that she needs an extra visit outside. She is a 5 month old minature daschund.
