  • Question about a US bank account held by deceased relative?

My father died in Ireland recently and my siblings and I are trying to resolve his estate so that we can pay the funeral costs and so on. He divorced my mother some years ago. His personal effects so far include details of transactions on a bank account held in a US bank. What I'd like to know is do I need to send the bank a death certificate to have the funds frozen until probate is granted or are most US banks willing to accept a message to this effect subject to the estate solicitor/attorney forwarding them an interim death certificate confirming the date and place of death? The full certificate which includes cause of death will not issue until after the inquest.

  • What would you call this?

A workmate has recently brought the following to work for her lunch. A plate of food consisting of: 3 slices of ham, one hard boiled egg with the shell removed, 2-3 pieces of mild cheddar cheese and a tablespoon of mayonnaise. She calls this a "salad plate". As you will have noticed there are no vegetables in it so to address this she purchases a bowl of chips or French Fries from the workplace cafeteria. Am I the only one who finds this lunch beyond nutritionally unbalanced? And don't salads have to have some kind of lettuce in them at the very least?

  • Corsica in late October/early November?

What is Corsica like to visit at the end of October/start of November? What town or area would be the nicest at this time of year - Calvi, Bastia, Bonafacio, Ajaccio or elsewhere? Is it comfortable to swim in the sea? In Ireland, where I live, the sea tends to be a bit chilly so I'd be used to this.

  • Changing the country setting on the Zara.com website?

Hi, I got the Zara.com website for its Spring 2007 collection but I clicked on Iceland instead of Ireland when the command for "Select Country" came up (not the one for store locator). Now all the products shown are the ones for sale in Iceland and the prices are in ISK rather than Euro. Does anyone know how I can get the country setting back so that I can reset it to Ireland?
