Way back when there was software that would clean the unused portions of a HD, erase any fragments taht were lingering on the drive refreshing it and making it ready for further use.

Does such a thing exist today?

If so what is it's name and how do I get it?

I have been trying to download windows updates and keep getting error 646 and cannot find any information on the error. It's for windows 7.

After formulating these questions I wondered where to put them; Chemistry, Biology, Earth Sciences; so I chose Physics.

When water freezes what extra volume does it use?

For example if water were to freeze at a ratio of 2 to 1 then would 27 gallons of water were to freeze, would a 55 gallon sealed drum be ok? Would it still rupture even if it were to have an opening?

How can you keep water from freezing if putting it in a warm environment isn’t a possibility? The water has to remain potable so additives like salt and auto anti-freeze aren’t a consideration. Being that the opening in the container is only about 2 inches and the weight of the drum, agitation and or circulation aren’t a consideration.

I have considered pipe tape (you know the tape that is used to keep pipe from freezing,) problem being that I have been told that such tape will melt through a plastic barrel.

Well these are my problems considering an emergency water supply; what can you help me with? Please understand that only pertinent suggestions are encouraged and all are appreciated.

Every time I try to enter my age, month/day and age I always get this error message...and this has been for over 6 months with not responce form Yahoo as I have repeoted it over a dozen times.

Any Idea???

My Internet Explorer is in the not so early stages of be corrupt. I have contacted Microsoft, and they say they are not responsible because the machine is a Sony. So then I contacted Sony and their fix was less than useless, I even did it several times…any suggestions?
