Someone answer this for me please.Is it not a fact that the solar cycle is supposed to reach it's peak this year? Well if that is so,why is the radio wave propagation almost non existent? 10,15 even20 meters the DX is skimpy at best with loads of QRN.Makes it impossible to get a decent copy.I have worked thru at least 2 other cycles and usually by this time the bands are hopping with activity from 80 thru 10 every day.What is going on?

I've got an infestation of bird mites in my house and they are absolutely driving me mad.I can not sleep at night because my bedroom is crawling with them.In fact as I type this they are crawling up my legs!! I've tried bug sprays,bombs,fogs,nothing seems to kill them.I called the pest control guy and he just about laughed in my face,then told me $4500 for a complete fumigation job.Out of the question, too much money.Has anyone any suggestions besides burning down the place??

I am concerned about malware,highjackers,keyloggers etc.How much of a security risk is there when I am still using 98se? I have AVG virus scan,Search & Destroy,McAfee firewall and the firewall in my router.Since Mr. Gates has seen to it there are no more security updates, just how safe am I ???

The dismissal of Don Imus from CBS radio is just another example of our twisted ideas on what is unacceptable and what is simply a joke in bad taste.Had he said the N word that would have been totally unacceptable and management would have had every right to fire him.But for what he said? It was a joke folks,albeit in bad taste,but a joke no less.Lots of hosts have slipped in a crude remark or humorous jest now and then,even I'll admit to doing it sometimes.But to end up being canned for such a thing? Absolutely absurd,don't you agree?

This is bad, real bad for me I really need some advice from someone who is a medical professional in the area of pharmacy or dispensing of medications. I suffer from AADD and narcolepsy along with disassociates disorder (multiple personalities). I must take a rather high dose of Adderall each day in order to remain functional. I have been on this drug for almost ten years and in that time my dosage has been gradually increased to what it is now. Before Adderall,it was Dexedrine and I was on a very high dose of that also.All along in these many years my health insurance paid for my medication,no problem.Recently however,they are threatening my doctor with legal action if he doesn’t stop prescribing this medication for me.They have accused him of over prescribing and malpractice.They also said they were going to investigate him and have his licence to practice medicine revoked.They came just short of accusing him and ME of insurance fraud.

I heard Yahoo is closing down on 12/19 for good.What happens to our address book and kept mail ? Will we have enough time to find somewhere to transfer it to?

I just got done watching "Cold Case".The story was about a massacre at a shopping mall and the perpatrators were two high school boys and a girl.It showed absolute carnage and was extremely graphic.Don't you think there are some kids who might relate to the shooters and want to emulate them?

Is there anything I can do to this hdd to make it last long enough to get my data transfered to my other drive???

My 40 year old stepdaughter has been living with us for about 5 years now and to say the least it has been an experience.She is very bossy and nags me constantly in fact,I call her my 2nd wife!! What the problem is she has this facination about my sex life.She is constantly accusing me of masturbating or going to porno sites.She is always snooping around trying to catch me doing something or going thru the history on the cput to see what sites I visited.She constantly tells her Mother that I am after her body, which is certainly not true, and her mom knows this.She is a very attractive woman,has never been married or even had a serious relationship.She does not want kids says men are pigs and finds fault with just about everyone including her family.She came home from NYC after 9/11.She was a very successful rock band manager and her clients were big hitters.Now she seems to be content to live in the guest house with her 10 cats and run my life.Tell me what would you do?

I keep getting a "try another category,sorry no questions"

About 3 weeks ago I was working outside painting my house.It was about 9:45 in the am on a sunny,clear,cloudless morning.I was standing on a ladder,when I caught a glimpse of something in the sky.I turned around on the ladder so I was facing it.I had a perfect view since I was above everything.At first I thought it was an commercial jet,then looking closer I realized it had absolutely no airfoils of any type! No wings,no tail,no rudder.It was cigar shaped,about the size of a DC9.It must of been made of something metallic because the sun was being reflected off of it.It made no sound whatsoever,neither was there any sign of an engine or jet exhaust.Just then it disappeared behind my neighbor's tall pine trees and since it was flying so low(I est.1500 to 2000 ft)I fully expected to see it when it cleared those trees.I came down the ladder as fast as I could and ran around to the other side but it had vanished.It could not have been more than 5 seconds.Please tell me what was it?

I have a old Merc and need parts for it.Years ago I did find a place in Maryland that had used parts for it,but I have forgotten the name.This motor was bought brand new in Minnesota by my father-in-law and he used it twice then stored it away until I came across it cleaning out the shed.I want to get it in top shape.Can anyone help?

Everybody was patriotic and gave 200% to the war effort.Women worked in defence plants,while their husbands and boyfriends went off to fight.Hollywood female stars sold war bonds while male stars joined the military and fought eg: James Stewart piloted a B-17 and flew bombing missions over Germany,Clark Gable was an anti aircraft gunner etc.,etc.

Would it be legal for them at the ER to draw blood from someone while they are unconcious to check for drugs and alcohol without first getting a signed consent form?
