  • Where can I buy suitable chest of drawers?

The space I have for chest of drawers is narrow and low, but deep.

I am having trouble hiding any to fit it, particularly finding drawers that are more than 40cm deep.

    (Approx 72cm w, 60cm h, 50-60cm d)

Has anyone had a similar issue and has any recommendations?

  • General Election voting while in hospital (UK)?

Does anyone know what the general procedure is for patients voting in the election while in hospital?

Obviously, people can register for a postal vote but would only do this if they were aware that they'd be in hospital on 6th May - what about voters who are in hospital unexpectedly?

Are booths set up within hospitals or do votes have to be cast by proxy?

Many thanks for any information, I could find nothing on Direct Gov.

  • Graco Stadium Duo / Quattro Duo Pushchairs?

Hi, I am helping a friend to research tandem pushchairs and would love to hear opinions on two Graco models - the Stadium Duo and Quattro Duo.

All opinions, positive and negative, would be much appreciated, as well as any alternative recommendations. Personally, I have used a double Phil & Ted but this is not suitable for her children.

    Many thanks -x-

  • Handbag - as seen on BBC last night?

This is a real long shot but I fell in love with the handbag that character, Emma Kennedy, used in last night's 'Hustle' and was wondering if anyone knew who it is by?

It was a large, white, underarm tote - really gorgeous. I will try to find a photo online

  • Recommended Snow boots / Moon boots?

With this horrible weather I am looking for a pair of ladies snow boots to take me through the winter.

I am looking for a mix of style, warmth and grip, for the icy paths. I was thinking along the lines of knee-length, fake fur-lined and rubber soled but would welcome any suggestions. Preferably under £100 and water-proof.

    Many thanks

  • Recommended good reads?

I would be interested in peoples recommendations for some good reads. They don't have to be recent, there are certainly many modern classics that I have missed, and I enjoy most genres, though often opt for easy reading crime/thrillers (e.g. Michael Connelly, PD James).

    As a guide, some of my favourite books are;

We Need To Talk About Kevin - Lionel Shriver

    Bridsong - Sebastian Faulks

A Gathering Light - Jennifer Donnelly

Star of the Sea - Joseph O'Connor

    Animal Farm / 1984 - George Orwell

The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood

    Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte

The Catcher In The Rye - J.D. Salinger

I also enjoy Thomas Harris, James Ellroy, Michael Cordy, Douglas Kennedy.

Many thanks, I look forward to exploring your recommendations.

  • Bollywood Dance Classes - Oxford?

I have been looking for Bollywood dance classes in Oxfordshire and have been unable to find any. Can anyone help?

I have contacted a few local evening class organisers and dance schools but the nearest beginners classes that have been suggested are in London - a little too far for a weekly class!

  • Garden Centre in Hertfordshire?

I'm looking for the name of a specific garden centre in or near Hertford.

It has a small steam train to ride, animals and birds (including meerkats, chipmunks and waterfowl) and lovely kitchen furniture for sale. Can anybody help?

I've tried www.yell.com and google searches but have had no luck.

  • Who watches 'My Hero'?

I can't believe this BBC 'comedy' keeps getting recommisioned. Who watches it? I managed 15 minutes of it last night (my third attempt at watching it) and I had to turn over - it was awful and not remotely funny.

Am I missing something, is it really a genius comedy show or is the BBC just lazy with their prime time tv?

  • Remember the Raggydolls?

Raggydolls was a kid's tv programme from the 80s/90s - it was about toys left in the reject bin of a factory.

One of them was sad, one was covered in paint, 'Hi-Fi' had a stutter and 'Backtofront' was, well, back to front.

And then there was Claude. What was wrong with him? Was he really a 'reject' purely on the basis of being French?

Was this innocent seeming children's tv programme really the work of a xenophobic genius who wanted to drum the message in while it's viewers were young? Or am I forgetting some important factors of Raggydolls?!

  • Does anyone know what Upper Arncott, Oxfordshire is like?

  • West Oxfordshire residents - Pros and cons of living in Witney and/or Chipping Norton?

We are looking to move house later this year and are considering Witney and Chipping Norton areas. We are a young family, who rely on bus as well as car to travel into the city for work/nursery. What are the advantages/disadvantages of these areas - schools? transport? parks? etc.

I'm also interested to hear what areas such as Deer Park, Madley Park and Thorney Leys are like, as there are many properties available in those areas of Witney.

    Thank you for your help

  • Betting - why is 3/1 known as carpet and 33/1 double carpet?

I appreciate that most come from cockney rhyming slang but nobody has been able to tell me where this comes from and why. Any ideas?
