You know what? It's hard to describe me. I am a messianic mother of 3. I am a strong supporter of breastfeeding. I am married to a really good, intelligent man. I don't like people who are mean or rude. Don't be a cyber-gangster lol. I love my faith and I believe everyone should be it. I don't believe there are different paths for everyone, I believe there is one real path and everyone who is not on it is on the wrong path. But, I won't force that on you. If you're reading this you wanted to know what I thought. I won't badger you lol. Um. I'm in my late twenties, I love all genres of music but mostly I listen to reggae. I'm a know it all. I'm a pretty one, too lol. I drink socially. I don't smoke. I don't like liars. I fight physically from time to time because I can't take a heavy argument. I'm sensitive. I was picked on when I was a kid, lol. I have very close best friends. I only have one sister. I had a brother but he died a year ago. Baruch atah YHWH.

  • Do businesses jump leases and continue to thrive?

A young business recognizes the area it chose to be in is not as good as they thought.

They want to move but they've signed another 3 year lease.

They have two more years on the current lease.

One person suggests they move, lease be dammed.

They say they've heard of OTHER businesses doing that, and they're fine.

What happens to businesses that "jump" their lease?

  • Are there any laws in Texas concerning cyber bullying?

I'm being cyber bullied by a group of people and it's been going on for years at this point.

It's just insults, slander, harassment, stealing of my pictures (if they can get to them), etc.

Are there any laws in Texas concerning cyber bullying? They are here in this same city with me and while I know their names the detectives aren't very responsive.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Is there a law against teens engaging in intercourse with each other?

I know teens will get legally in trouble if they're caught sexting.

I know adults will get in trouble if they're caught with a teen.

But what about teens with other teens similar in age in a sexual relationship?

Is there a law against that?

    Thanks

  • Breaking lease in less than a week -- help?

We signed a lease for a store a week ago. Along with this lease came $10,000 worth of merchandise that the previous store left due to their quick exit (non-payment of rent). We paid the downpayment, and purchased the merchandise outright.

According to the realty company, the merchandise had enough of the product we would need to start the store, minus $30,000 we would need to purchase the rest.

We signed, got in the store 3 days ago, to assess the inventory.

What's there would require us to need more like $60,000-$85,000 to open the store.

The previous store took everything of value and left 142 boxes of things that cost a dollar or less, lol. SMH

$30,000 is VERY different that $60,000+.

We spoke to them and told them it's impossible for us to start this store, and that it wouldn't be possible for us to begin this store until August, if we were going to do it.

We want to just break the lease. It's only been a week; they can keep the money we've already paid. We'll put the inventory in storage.

Is there a general clause in leases in Texas where if it's less than 30 days, that you can legally break it and not be penalized?

(sorry so long; if there's any more info needed, please let me know, as I tried to provide everything)

  • How do you file a 1099 and a 1065 for a family-owned LLC?

This is our first year as business owners -- our entity is an LLC. My husband receives a 1099, because he's still a contractor.

We pay our bills with the income from the 1099, and anything extra is rolled into the LLC. Everything that has been made from the LLC goes back into the LLC.

When we file our taxes, will the taxes be able to reflect that? Besides a 1065 and a Schedule K, is there anything else we need to file? Will we still need a sched C for the 1099?

  • What is the name for this kind of wordplay?

Okay -- what is the name for the kind of wordplay where you take two or three words and put them together to create a new, shortened word?

For example: Comicon is the shortened word for "Comic Convention"

What's that called, when you do that?

    Thank you in advance!

  • If your race/ethnicity can directly affect your sales should you mention that in your business plan?

I know that people don't like to talk about race but I am wondering if those that think in dollars/money/business STILL don't want to discuss race as it factors in to one's business?

Because I'm black and the kind of business I'm wanting to open is one that, while targeting the African American race, is rarely, if ever, owned by African Americans themselves.

    That being the case --

    1. There is an outcry among African Americans that these businesses should more often be owned by us and they are not, and

    2. There is an outcry in general among African Americans that we should frequent businesses owned by African Americans more than we currently do.

Now, knowing these things -- knowing that ONE (of many!) reason that people will come and spend money at one's store is simply because we are the same race as them -- does one mention this in one's business plan when seeking lenders/investors?

Or, since race discussion makes the average person cringe, should we leave it out?

Because at the end of the day this will cause people to spend more money and at the end of the day will be one of the reasons why said lenders/investors will get their money back plus interest.

  • How does one meet investors interested in investing in a start up company?

We have a great business idea. We are looking for investors and are willing to pay back in less than 12 months, with 10% interest. We can't get a loan because we don't have any revolving credit accounts (e.g., credit cards) but we paid off our 2007 vehicles 4 years' early, and our house and bills are paid faithfully and on-time... my husband's a contractor so he's ALREADY a small-business in and of himself, and I suppose I am, too, being that I do hair on occasion, in my home.

Our business plan is all ready, prepared by us, the numbers are there.

If we had the MONEY it would be a very successful endeavor.

We will save UP the money...it'll just take us a long time... and by then someone else will have done it...

Please help us out. Tell us where to look. Where to apply, etc.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Is money from an investor in the asset column or the liability column?

Working on a start up funding spreadsheet here.

If an investor gives you money to back your project, is it an asset, or a liability?

If the money will come back to the investor in 12 months' time, is it simply a liability, or is it with the long-term liabilities?

    HELP lol

...And I'm guessing grant money goes in the asset column, yes?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Where do we file our law suit?

We are in Texas, the person that "stole" the money is in New York.

    The crime occurred electronically!

WHERE do we file our suit?

("stole" is in quotations because -- well it's a long story but the CPA put the wrong acct # on the income tax, and the bank deposited the money into another person's account, and that person spent the money. So the moment she took that money and spent it, she became a criminal whereas, before that moment, she was a victim just like us. The Bank says it's not their fault, the IRS says it's not their fault, the CPA says their insurance doesn't cover these things. Everyone's telling us to file a suit on the other person)

  • What is this Laureate worksheet called?

When I was in elementary school and middle school, I was in the TAG/Laureate program at my school. We did lots of things but one thing we did that I REALLY enjoyed was this worksheet that was like a graph --

It had people's names on one side, and different choices of whatever on the topside.

And it gave questions that were like clues and you would either check off those who lined up with the right then and x out everyone else that did not line up.

    It would be like

"These five kids are having lunch and each one has a different lunch. Can you tell who had what?"

Then the clues would be like

"Janey can't eat wheat" so you'd go through and x out the peanut butter/jelly sandwich and the pizza for Janey.

    SOUND FAMILIAR??

What is this type of thing called? I want to print some out for my daughter; she's smarter than I was at that age and I think she'd enjoy it, too.

    Thanks in advance!!!

  • What does my credit score need to be for a credit card?

I have no idea what my credit score needs to be to get a DECENT credit card -- meaning NOT Capital One and those people.

Actually, *thinking* to be honest I don't even know what a DECENT credit card is! O_O

    I've never had one.

Help me out. My credit is okay (no real debt -- cars paid off years early so all we have is a mortgage). But if we're gonna deal in this wicked world system they're telling us a way to get our credit to get better is to have a credit card.

So what's it have to be?

I don't want them to check it and not be able to get one -- that would make my credit go down if I just have credit cards checking my credit all willy-nilly, right?

    EDUCATE ME!!

    Please? lol

    Thanks

  • Do you believe he's in the wrong?

My sons are ages 3 and 5. They have been playing with stuffed animals for the last year -- a mario, a luigi, some cats, a leopard, a crocodile and a few dogs. They play with them daily, they take them to other people's houses to sleep over.

    These are their friends.

My husband says he never wanted them to play with stuffed animals, and says that that's the reason the 3 year old whines so much (the 3 year old is THREE, mind you, and is not feeling very well right now, plus he's the baby).

Part of him believes these toys will "make them gay".

He went around the house, collected all their stuffed animals and tossed them in the trash.

    O_O

    All of them.

Now he's going to go away to work.

And I will have to deal with the daily "I really miss Baby-Super Cat" (that's the name of the 3 year old's favorite. Named him himself).

Am I wrong for being SERIOUSLY upset?

I mean, when I was a kid, had one of my parents thrown away all of my favorite toys, I would be devastated and would probably need counselling now...

(re: the gay thing -- I told him if they're gay, nothing's going to stop them from being gay. He says he's aware)
