we've contracted with a local (not so known packers) to move our entire household items from kolkata to hyderabad, its almost going to be a month now, they haven't delivered our items yet, and asking for more money in advance to deliver. what steps can we take to prevent ourselves from being exploited?

when we try to be social, pple drift away. when we promise anything & keep it, pple laugh at us, when they don't keep promises, they want us to laugh too. When we want to help pple, they find it weird, when we ask for help, pple find it funny. so, what is our dear society for?

I am a decided spinster of 33yrs, happy with my own world & can never let it go under any circumstances. Not much social, I generally avoid people, but recently a colleague has expressed his interest in marrying me. Unfortunately, I don't share the feelings of his. Neither I want to let him feel down, nor do I want to make a mess of it, in the staffroom. My other colleagues know about it, & it is through one of them he has sent his proposal. I don't want to leave the job, for it will be too much sacrificing for me. Any other way out ?
