I'm reading the politics of race and the encroaching tourism industry in the dominican republic. Its a book by Steven Gregory called "devil behind the mirror" and I just find it hard to read because the discription is thick. Give me tips on how to read it and interpret it and understand it more.

To block all "developed" country from coming to their country? Frankly, culturally, they is an air of US vs. THEM everywhere. They are not allowed to come here and culturally mix with us so we can understand them better or vice versa. Its really hard for them to get a visa to begin with (i mean u'll have to have a zillion dollars in your bank account to start with). They are very creative people with same intellectual capacity as anyone else. Why are they barred from travelling for adventure and survival. What are you youngesters fresh with degrees doing? Wake up and see the world!

Its seems that a chimpanzee have better chance of choosing whats right for us than the brightest college grad. Atleast, a chimp can chose one banana over the other RANDOMLY with no racial/cultural stigma to it.

A professor would be on par with the chimps. !!

Species on this planet have evolved with immune systems to fight of all the diseases so individuals can live long enough to procreate. However, as far as i know all of the species have evolved to actually die so when the cell devide, the telomerase get short so eventually species die so why have evolution selected against immortality if its so advantageous. Or, is evolution INCOMPLETE?

My bf broke up with me recently and left me stranded after being with him for almost 3 years. I was young and realized how psychologically "infantalized" i was under him even though i was socially and educationally sound. I was 19 then. Now, i've met a younger guy (but still 4 years older) and he is very Handsome. He looks just like this picture and his personality is sweet.

The only problem is my "ex" still calls me and in his voice he seems to indicate a kind of sticky attachment thats still left in him and i'm afraid it would reignite a messed up relationship. My question is, I'm afraid to date again and the new guy asked me (a week ago) if i was in a mood to travel with him to US Virgin Island. I like him but i'm also very afraid to fall into trap? He had a terrible childhood. His owner basically fed him food that he didnt eat and he is very skinny unlike most of his breed. But, in the past two weeks that he's with me he has grown to be very fond of me and i treat him well and feed him the right food (soft dog food which he emties it whenever its given). But then, he doesnt want to sleep in his bed that i brought him. I put a fench so he can stay put but tries every conniving way to get over the fench and unto my work place. At night, if i dont take him to bed with me, he will moan and cry all night. Should i discipline him or is he just a loving dog. He is a bichon frise.

I saw one in a store for relaxation and things of that sort. Its a small square like wooden stuff with soft sand and rocks. What am i suppose to do with it ? How does it work? What psychological affect am i suppose to get? What is its meaning at least.

Are the students from the Columbia University's Chicano Caucus, who are apparently under investigation for "disorderly conduct" when they stormed the stage while minuteman director was giving a speech, expelled? That would really make me sad because I hated the president of the Republican party from that university on a live debate. I wish i was on the other table debating against his "free speech" rhetorics. The chicano caucus however, need a better orator expecially if u have someone representing in the media for them.
