BOOKS: I would like to read this book again, it was interesting to me. I don't remember the name of the book or author. What I recall, New Orleans, 1800s, dressmaker, mulatto woman, romance? I think they find out she is from a rich family towards the end? Anyone remember this book?

I have a Dell with Vista in it...the comp is only a year and a month old. Problem I have been having is with the display driver...keeps going blank on me. Could this have been because I have had several power outages recently? I have had two power outages in March alone, so it's been more than two times my comp was shut off that way. Could this have affected my system? And if so, what can I do about it? The warranty is expired, you know everything breaks after that. We have tried reinstalling the drivers of everything on the system, system restore and it hasn't helped at all. Any suggestions other than that would be appreciated. Thanks.

I caught him doing the nasty with the female...they actually got stuck. Will she get pregnant even though he was castrated? Please tell me NO. She had 22 puppies last year and I don't want more, but I never saw a dog that got fixed doing the nasty and I don't know how that works. Should I call my vet and ask?

Here is the situation:

My husband loaned my friends kid his nintendo system with games and joysticks and whatnot. So while my husband is drunk, he started ranting and raving to me about my friends 17 year old daughter in his drunken stupor.

Now I told my friend to keep her daughter away from my house and why. My husband was forced to finally quit drinking because he was diagnosed with osteonecrosis. He asked for his games back and they didn't give everything back. What he got back was broken, they spilled something in the game console and it's a mess.

I think they did it on spite and I told her. That's the way she "raised" her "good" children, to get people before they get them if you know what I mean. Everything worked until my husband asked for it back then suddenly it didn't work.

I wasn't born yesterday. She constantly does that and I told her I am not lending her another thing. She has luggage she never returned, a fan, miscellaneous things she never returns nothing and when you ask for it back, it's broken.

What would you do?

I was diagnosed with herniated disks in 1996. I had MRIs done in 1997 showing the herniated disks, I have three - two cervical and one lumbar. I was also diagnosed in 2003 with scoliosis. That doctor stated if my condition continues to deteriorate, I would be a candidate for surgery. This was in New York-I don't live there anymore.

I moved to another state. I just had MRIs done and they don't see any disk material protruding onto anything. They are saying the disk is dried out and that it is minimal.

I am in severe pain in my left leg. They sent me to physical therapy which only puts me in greater pain. I knew this but I told them I would do it their way because they didn't believe how much pain I am in. I was out of it in pain for a week from that theraphy session and I haven't went back for any more. I was in the ER on June 2 because I couldn't stand upright from the pain in my back. That lasted a whole week of pain. I am tired of feeling so old.

I have tried ALL OTHER OPTIONS, I now am able to consider surgery as I have had this condition 12 years without improvement. I have gained over 130 lbs due to the inability to walk without being in severe pain. I have fallen down from the pain. I tried everything. I need assistance in hygiene sometimes because of the pain.

Where can I turn to? I have no insurance. I have tried to apply for social security disability, they turned me down because these doctors are saying there is no problem. The social security doctor said it's obvious but they didn't use his information in determining my eligibility. That doctor was an orthopedic, while I'm at the clinic seeing this menace of a doctor who should not be practicing but due to my insurance situation I had to deal with.

I'm going to another hospital because they actually have an orthopedic clinic there but it is going to take a while to get the approval for the indigent coverage.

I may be just venting, but I'm sick and tired of this crap. Please let me know if you know other options that I may have failed to realize. Thank you.

I "Had" herniated disks diagnosed in 1996. A recent MRI report stated that there is no protrusion showing. How can this be possible? The sciatic pain is excruciating. Quite frankly I believe these doctors to be idiots. How can I get the correct treatment without the correct diagnosis? In 1996 they didn't have laser surgery and I would like to get that done, but these doctors in Ohio are retarded. I'm from New York City, people are much more on the ball.

I need to know what I can do, I will already be looking into another medical facility this coming Monday and tell those numb nuts at the other place I won't be back.

PS: My son was diagnosed 3x with staph infection and he is on his third course of antibiotic. He has been taking antibiotic since April. They can't even get rid of an infection, they going to kill us, I swear!

I am doing the Jose Silva Mind Control Method of meditation. I do not have anyone to talk to about it. I have bought the book and researched online but I want some feedback if possible.

My neighbors bothering my dogs, my husband goes over there, they slam the door in his face so he dumps the water out of their kiddy pool. He goes to the store to get me cough medicine and a cop comes to my house. I have the flu, I am disabled. I told the officer he needs to go next door because I don't know what happened. He says how am I going to resolve the problem, I say I'll take a match to it. I meant my deed and moving back to NYC from OHIO where I now live. He arrests me, handcuffs me for over 30 minutes. I have nerve damage and I told him this, I have scoliosis and spinal injuries, I can't go over there to do anything anyway-besides I have the flu. He calls a police van because I couldn't sit in the car with my hands behind my back in cuffs. It takes them 30 minutes. This cop says he has me on tape. On the tape presented in court, I wasn't even recorded as saying I will take a match to it, so I'm wondering if conspiracy as well.

Perception, I heard something that makes a whole lot of sense. What is your take on this subject.

I heard that there are different denominations of religions due to different levels of learning. That made a whole lot of sense, and also explains the out there religions, for example: Scientology, Atheists and other believers. To me it's out there, sorry for my belief but it is what it is.

Why must there be a debate with people who are believers, non-believers? We are gonna find out once we die anyway. We are going to die one day and then everything will be crystal. What is the point of fighting about it and wasting energy on something that has been debated for eons. When is the back and forth going to end?

We have all the tools to fix every single problem that is wrong in the world, but our minds are focused elsewhere. Consider that statement.

What should I expect. Puppy is putting on some weight, still boney but not as emaciated. How long till weight comes back.

Also she is very depressed. Lost litter mates and sad. I go to work and she is not alone but doesn't eat while I'm gone.

Should she be on our front lawn, which can potentially have had other dogs on it? I almost smacked my husband for having her out on the lawn. Is she in any danger from being on our front lawn now that she has overcome the worst of it? Cause I'm giving him human parvo if he put her at risk, dumb man.

Should our yards be bleached to the point of our losing lawn? I don't know if that would help. She cannot start vaccinations for a month is what I was told, they did however say she had some antibody to the disease now. What should I do?

I am still diligent in picking up the poop in the house and promptly bleaching, what more can I do than that?

Do not tell me VET, I got no money. I had to ask a friend if she would lend me the money for the amoxicillin for them online because I can't even afford the $20. I am already in debt to the emergency clinic for one puppy and my next two or three paychecks will be halved to pay that. I can't do more than one puppy because they only give 30 days to pay it. One puppy already died and one don't look too good.

Do you know what I can give besides pepto and pedialyte? I have tried broth. He was eating yesterday (canned dog food) and today he is not. He actually is throwing up and even the pepto that I gave the first time came up. I put a couple of ccs in a syringe (no needle) and squirted more pepto down his throat. I gave him some baby formula, it came up prior to the second dose of pepto. I have one pill left to help with the vomiting, it's called metoclopramide and I don't want to give it if he throws it up. Any ideas that can help? I would sincerely appreciate all comment

I am not even going into it all. But I'm not making money for a vet. I had 4 pups down to three, one pup saw the vet, finally eating on her own on day 5. (Dog had 11 pups, managed to get 7 homes).

The other two in and out signs of it. Giving pedialyte and amoxicillin to all three. The one who died could not keep the amox down. The one who saw the vet was the sickest.

I am indebted to this vet for 2 paychecks already. We will be eating beans for a while-not kidding. Are there any cheap to free places that I can get shots for these pups. They cannot have shots for 30 days and no one wants them to come into their business because of the parvo. Got price from one place, unbelievable would cost me over $160 per pup over time. They were born on April 12 and I heard they have 90-day immunity from the mama, but that's not the case here.

I would have said how glad I was that she was still here with me, even with all her flaws, we all have some. Don't be too hard on your mom, it's a job that not too many people can do right 100% of the time. For the single mothers, like my mom and me as well, I wish you many Happy Mothers' Days to come.
