1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoDoes anyone know why a computer (Dell Dimension 5150) does not want to turn on? The start button blinks....?
The computer can be started if the motherboard battery is popped out and reinstalled, but goes to black-screen and can be started with the (F1) resume. The power options are all set correctly. The motherboard battery is new. The computer CAN be shut off and it will re-start correctly, perhaps 3 or 4 times in the same day, but it returns to the same "no-start" problem erratically. Is this a 'smart power supply' problem, or what?
1 AnswerDesktops1 decade agoDisc brakes on 1991 Jeep Cherokee, dealer said "spindles are worn" can cause front pads to stick?
What was he talking about? About the main wheel spindle or the spindle bolts the calipers slide upon?? Does anyone know something more about this? The Jeep is a 4x4 4.0L.
How could the main spindle cause the brake pads to stick? He said they "cleaned them up" but they should be replaced" and quoted me a HUGE cost. ($800.00)
The caliper spindle bolts that the calipers slide on are only about $6.00 each, and you need 2 for each side.

4 AnswersOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoDoes anyone know why a 1991 Jeep 4L will start and run perfectly, but only for about 3 to 4 seconds ?
1991 Ltd. Edition 4.0L Auto, fuel injected, gasoline is new and fine, tried gas line antifreeze just in case there was some water, and when it was parked last time it was running perfectly.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoBendix ABS Lifetime warranty, does anyone know where to find official documentation for this warranty in Cda.?
The ABS brake unit failed on my Canadian 1991 Jeep Ltd. Edition. I understand there is a lifetime warranty on this Bendix system, but require documentation to give to the dealer. The dealer denies any warranty exists because they don't want to be bothered. Where can this official documentation be found?
2 AnswersJeep1 decade agoWhen is Yahoo! going to bring back the 'discuss' forum option?
It seems that the boards were removed for political expedience at the MOST problematic time in US history--a failing war, a failing government, a failing president----and therefore it must also be logical to have a 'failing voice of the people' so that people can NOT criticize government policy?

4 AnswersJeep1 decade ago1991 Jeep 4L engine knocks when it catches and fires, but runs perfectly with no knock. What's wrong with it?
Has 200k on it, does not burn oil, lots of power, does not diesel when shut off, firing order is correct, it is firing on all six cylinders, but when the key is turned on, just as it starts, it sounds like a diesel knock. When idling or revved up, there is no distinctive knock, but minor valve or lifter noise.
3 AnswersJeep1 decade agoDoes anyone have a fix for this 86 Jeep fuel problem?
This jeep motor runs PERFECTLY, and the electric fuel pump, if unhooked on the discharge side, will pump GALLONS of gasoline with no problem. Driving down the road, the vehicle will run for several miles, then the motor will sputter, miss, and die.
The FUEL LINE on the discharge side when removed, is found to have NO gasoline in it other than a few drops. THEN, after turning on the key, it will pump GALLONS of gasoline into a can, no problem. The line is hooked up again, and the jeep will run FINE for another mile or so, then it will ONLY run at idling speed, if an attempt is made to accelerate, then it will DIE.
SAME thing is repeated. NO gasoline is found in the fuel pump discharge line. Repeated 5 times on Saturday, it runs just FINE trying to check it out in the yard. Fuel pump will pump GALLONS non-stop, so what's the problem?
What is wrong with this truck, other than the fact that it's a rusty '86 Jeep?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat is the motor SIZE of a V8 IH (INternational Harvester Travel-all vehicle.?
SERIOUS Question; Does anyone know what size the ENGINE was that was used in the 1961 IH (International Harvester) 'Travel-all' vehicle? It is a V8 engine, and the vehicle itself looks a bit like a clunky squared version of the old Jeep Cherokee (the big Jeep, circa 1979) but the IH vehicle was supposed to be 9-passenger, 4 door, with verticle grill and round single headlights--a bit like a big stationwagon.
2 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoThe compression for a GX140 5 hp. Honda motor should be what?
The motor is about 20 years old, NEVER failed. Spark is good, gas is ok, and it feels like there is compression, but the motor won't start. The shut-off switch tests ok. There is spark.
