I went out to feed my horses on Thursday and noticed that my gelding had swelling on the left side of his throat latch. I thought that maybe it would get better. Friday it was a little bit bigger and it was on the left side of his neck too. Tonight it is a little bit smaller but not by much. The swelling is a hard swelling, doesn't seem to cause him pain unless it is pushed on, and it does not have an abscess on it. Does anybody have any idea what it is? I've asked around and people have told me that it is not strangles but they cannot tell me what it is.

Also he had sand colic on Monday. I didn't know if maybe this was one of his affects from it or if he is just having an allergic reaction to the Banamine that was given to him, although it's not in the same location that the shots were given. He was given 10cc's of it twice. Thanks!

I'm taking care of a friends animals while she is away for the holidays. One of her ponies is slightly foundered. The founder isn't as bad as I've seen it in other ponies and horses. We are supposed to be getting 3-8 inches of snow tomorrow. There is access to 3 stalls with small paddocks. Should I put her in one? If so should I leave her in just the stall or give her access to the paddock also? The stall is really big and the paddock is about twice the size of the stall. Thanks for any help you can give me! I really appreciate it.

My cat was supposed to give babies in 3 weeks but for some reason last week she aborted them and the babies were no where to be found. We had to rush her to the vet because it caused her uterus to become inflamed so the vet had to take her uterus out. Now all she does is cry for her babies and she even thinks that my mom's 7 month old puppy is her baby and tries to drag it off to my room. Since she does this we must keep them separated or watch them very closely because although the puppy is bigger than her she hurts it and we don't want the puppy to turn around and hurt her. What should I do to get her to leave the puppy alone? Locking them up all the time is not an option. Has anybody had a similar situation? I would love to hear about it and how you resolved it. Thanks!

Does anubody know what is the best way to handle this situation? Yesterday my dad was mowing and saw my dog attacking something. He went over and looked and it was my box turtle. The dog (a Jack Russel Terrier) worked his way into their cage and tore the turtle up. It has about 6 holes in it. The turtle isn't very big. About 3 of the holes go completly through and I can see blood. I've been looking online all day to find a way to help my poor little turtle. I've found some places that say to let the turtle soak for an hour and then put betadine on her and then another said make a solution of water and betadine and have her soak for at least 15 minutes. What should I do? I don't have the money to take her to the vet. Please help!!!

Does anybody know if it is a good idea to combine these two fish?We had the betta in with a fancytail goldfish, a bala shark, and 2 other female bettas.The fancytail and bettas arent supposed to be in the same tank but they did fine.The problem is that the other 2 bettas gang up on the one i want to move and the only other place to put it is with my black moor fish.Can anyone help?Thanks to everyone who answers in advance! :D

i gave a puppy to a classmate who lives across the street from my grandma and i went to my grandmas 1 day and someone ran him over so he was laying there gasping for air & i petted him as he took his last breath & my classmate was devastated!!!what should i do for her???
