People feel very differently about being adopted and not knowing their family history or heritage. How do you feel?

Some possible answers:

*My family is the only family that matters to me, it is my history too.

*I am interested to know my biological and medical history. I am not interested in meeting my bio mother but might someday.

*I am interested in the above and if I have siblings, and why I was given up for adoption.

*I would like to know if I am like my bio parents and family.

* It doesnt mean I my love my parents less but, I NEED to know where I came from and who my bio family is.

* I am a square peg in a round family. I dont feel like I belong. I NEED some answers

* I feel like my history was stolen from me. I have a right to know my heritage, to celebrate my ethnicity, I have a right to my medical history, the right to know if I have siblings.

* My history is not my families and it is insulting that they think so.

I was married for 14 years, most of them unhappy and controlled. We had a bitter divorce and custody battle that never ended, even once the papers were signed. I have been with my boyfriend now for 6 years. We even own a house together. Marriage however has not been something Ive been interested in. When I think of getting married I get nauseaus and light headed.

He's a nice guy who can be a real jerk and the honeymoon has been over for years but, I never even imagine my future without him in it.

I have the chance to leave a job I HATE to take a job I will hopefully love, the downside is the kids and I will lose our health insurance. If I married my long time boyfriend we would be covered under his. I keep telling myself that getting out of owning a house together is harder than getting out of a marriage and that its just a piece of paper but still thinking about it makes me physically ill.

Suggestions?

Just the atrocious spelling and grammer in the pregnancy and parenting section makes chills run down my spine? Then there are the questions that are either so vague or so poorly written that you cant understand them. All I can think is...THIS PERSON IS A PARENT?

How do you feel about your birth parents and did your feelings change as you got older? Would you feel differently about the situation if you knew your mother was young and loved you too much to try to raise you herself?

My 16 year old is upset because I drove by the place he said he was and he wasnt there, he thinks I am psyco for grounding him when he was simply at a different friends house.

Example: Library books, or peeing when you had to go really bad! Keep it clean. Lets make it more interesting and leave people and pets out.
