I bought a dresser at a yard sale and when we got it home and in the house, it just REEKS of stale cigarette smoke. I tried leaving outside for a few days, I've wiped it with wood wipes and even sprayed Febreeze on it. Any ideas ?

I have tried everything from OxyClean to Tide to renting a steam cleaner. I've soaked it and scrubbed it and tried everything for three days now. I'm afraid to let it dry because I'm afraid it will never come out.

I'm looking for a book about a man who consulted with the FBI. The author used several riddles one was "What breaks but never falls and what falls but never breaks?" In the story the main character has a daughter who was afraid of someone from a past case he worked on so it may have been from a series. In the end his house was shot up by the bad guy and his lady friend from the case came in the middle of the night and put his house back in order just in time for the ex wifes visit. I know the details are sketchy but if anyone recognizes this PLEASE let me know.
