My Ipod's volume won't stay up!?
Since syncing my Ipod this morning, I have been able to turn up the volume on my Ipod, but then it will start decreasing until it's off as soon as I stop turning it up using the button on the side of the device, or using the touch screen. What is going on with this? Is there anyway to fix it?

3 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits10 years agoI don't know how to talk to people?
I've always been very quiet, all through school, college, and now at my job. I definitely answer when someone talks to me, but I've never really known how to start conversations, or keep one going. I was recently promoted for the next few busy weeks at work, and the supervisor who helped get me this promotion has told me that our manager's main concern about me is that I don't talk. I am able to talk with the other entry-level employees easily enough. Mainly because they're pretty talkative and I just have to say a few things to keep a conversation going. I've also sort of figured out that when it comes to talking to them, or to customers at my job, I understand the "script" that those conversations tend to follow. I'm also more comfortable around them, since I've known them longer, whereas my supervisor and manager have only been at my location for the last couple of months.
I would really like to be considered to stay in my new position after our busy season, or at least to return to it the next time they need the additional help. But apparently I'm going to have to do something I don't understand to make that happen.
1 AnswerPsychology1 decade agoHow do I get a job in publishing?
I have a B.A. in English, and while I focused throughout college on getting my teaching certification, I'm now curious about working in publishing. What should I know about the industry? Any tips for getting a job?

1 AnswerOrlando1 decade agoCalling a principal, what questions should I ask about a job?
The school year has started, and I'm still job hunting for my first teaching job. There are a couple of high school and middle schools with job openings in my subject area (English), and I've applied and emailed the principals my resume. Now I'd like to call them to see if they are still looking at me, or to get them to look at me! If I call the schools, other than asking if the position is still open, what questions can I ask about the job or the school to show my interest, and (hopefully!) get the principal interested in hiring me?

Throughout this summer I have been applying for jobs as a teacher (I recently completed my degree and certification). Schools are beginning to start now, and I'm still unemployed, despite several interviews. Any tips on how I could still land a job for the school year? Can I still get a job?
4 AnswersTeaching1 decade agoWhen should I tell a guy I've never been kissed?
I'm 23, and due to a small pool of guys in high school and then being incredibly busy in college, I've never had a boyfriend, or even a kiss. I'm OK with this, since I never really liked anyone, but now that I'm done with school, I realize I'm ready to really get to know new people, and maybe find a guy I could be in a relationship with. If I do meet a guy I really like, though, should I tell him I've never been kissed, and never had a boyfriend before? And if yes, when should I tell him? From the start, third date, when?

1 AnswerMovies1 decade agoWhat should I say, if anything at all?
I've had a BIG crush on a guy I knew a while ago. We're 'facebook friends', but really that's all. I've been thinking for sometime that maybe I should say something to him (online), but I don't know what, or when.... Or even if it's worth the trouble of finding the right words to say when I haven't contacted him (or him me) in years.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoHow do I end my fantasy relationship?
Years ago I had a dream about a guy I used to know. In it, we fell in love and kissed, then I woke up. Since then, I've had a few other dreams about him, and thought about him almost constantly. I know he's probably just the 'form' that my 'ideal guy' has taken in my mind, but I can't stop fantasizing about running into him, and him falling in love with me, and me with him.... Any ideas how to put an end to my fantasizing?

10 AnswersMarriage & Divorce2 decades agoHow can I talk to my friend about her fiance?
My friend (age 20) is getting married to a man (age 27) in early September, and I really think it's a bad thing. While she's never been very mature, he is a habitual liar (for instance, telling her (in front of her friends) that when she studies abroad she can't mention his name to anyone in Italy because the Italian mob is after him since his grandfather left the mafia), and disrespectful. When I first met him, he complained in front of his friends, her friends and her, that he wasn't getting any from her till he married her. She's very religious, and he compares Jesus to Santa Clause. While I actually have similar religious beliefs, I can't believe she's going to have an easy time raising her kids in a Christian home with this man. Her mom is apprently going along with it while her dad opposes it. They've been controling, making her commute from home because they don't trust her not to spend time at his place with him if she's living oncampus.
