What is the best way to get top dollar for an antique Harley Davidson?
I have a one owner 1980 1200 cc FLH Harley Davidson Cycle. in mint condition. this cycle is not restored, It is all original, it has less than six thousand miles on the odometer.
My husband bought it new, and had some wonderful trips, until he had a heart attack. He never recovered enough strength to ride it again. It has been in the shed, fully insured, and carefully maintained, though not ridden. The NADA lists values For Harley Davidson motorcycles according to their condition. The top category is for fully restored cycle using all Harley parts. This one is not restored. It does not need to be, it starts right up. It has some factory installed extras.
My husband died, so the cycle has not been started since July. I assume it is still good, except it may need the battery charged.
Would really appreciate any advice.
4 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoWhat is the function of each macronutrient of fertilizer? Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium?
I believe that nitrogen makes leaves greener, and probably potassium has something to do with turgor, and wilting, just guessing on that. One of my nephews asked me, because I'm old. But my late brother was the agronomist, not me.
1 AnswerBotany1 decade agoPlease give me some words that refer to time. We are trying to build vocabulary, and to use specific words.?

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoIn speaking of the upper echelons of society, is the quote "to the manor born" or is it "to the manner born"?
I have seen this quote both ways in fiction, so I don't know which is right.
I think it would be logical to be manor, the large estate in which the nobility lived.
But then again, in Victorian society, there were many secret taboos, that were observed by those in high society, as a way of spotting the riffraff that might try to fit into the society, so manners were everything.
1 AnswerQuotations1 decade agoHow can I continue the warping setup that came with my second hand floor loom?
The warp threads are on cones, arranged in columns and rows, hung on pegs fastened to both sides of a 3' x 7' board. This board stands upright, near the back end of the loom. These threads didn't seem to be tight anywhere. In fact the one time I watched the loom in action, the completed rug was rolled up in front, and more warp unspooled from the cones simultaneously. The loom has two treadles and two rigid heddles. It was used to make rugs from strips of old cloth.
1 AnswerHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoWhat do antique dealers use to refresh the finish on wood furniture.?
I have seen things on PBS, and DIY, but can't find them now.
What I would really like to know is the formula for Formby's mixture, or something similar that is not a trade secret.
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWhat is the minimum age for taking money out of a Roth IRA? At what age does it have to be used up?
I have two IRAs, and I find that I am going to have less income in 2010 than average. So I am thinking this year would be a good time to pay the taxes, and reinvest the money
1 AnswerInvesting1 decade agoWhere can I purchase the software Paint By Numbers 2005 and Silhoouette Plus 2005 by Pegmaris of Atlanta?
I saw the sales pitch online; Pegmaris' website gave several retailers where it could be purchased, but none of the sites listed seem to have this software. This is a small graphics program that finds the edges between colors in photos or drawings. Sometimes I make appliques for quilts, and this would be a big help.
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoI read historical novels that mention buying and selling commissions as an officer in the British Army.?
Does anyone know what the cost of a commission was? Where did the money go? How much more did it cost to be a major than a captain? Were only the aristocracy allowed to be officers? Were there any other qualifications? Could an officer sell his commission any time he wanted to? Who did he sell to?
1 AnswerMilitary1 decade agowhat is the latest technology for fossil fuel fired generators for electricity?
I have read about generators that use either natural gas or coal, so that the cheapest fuel can be used. Coal made into a slurry might be a generator fuel.
I read about different kinds of coal, and I do not know which kind is used.
1 AnswerOther - Science1 decade agoWhat brand of makeup is hardest to remove from a shirt collar?
I do portrait quilts, and the hardest thing is to find the exactly right colors for skin tones, shadows, and highlights. So, I'm thinking that makeup comes in a wide range of skin colors, and could be used to touch up the tiny areas that need shading or highlighting on the faces and hands, etc.
I will probably need to wash the quilt at some point, so I thought the more staying power a make up has, the better.
So, what brand, what type, liquid or powder based, is hardest to get out of clothing?
2 AnswersMakeup1 decade agoIf you have pulmonary hypertension secondary to sleep apnea, how long since you were diagnosed?
I have a co worker who is the same age with the same diagnosis. We were diagnosed in the same year, so we assume we have had the disease for about the same amount of time. We both have the C-Pap. He is not on oxygen during the day. I am on oxygen therapy 24/7.
He has been a smoker. He had pneumonia last year , and it seems his disease has begun progressing much more rapidly than mine. He has been hospitalized, and needed a respirator twice in the last six months.
Is this a usual sequence for this condition?

4 AnswersToys1 decade agoMy sister's 3 year old grandson came skidding into the bathroom while she was brushing her teeth.?
He rushed to the toilet and did his business. As he was shaking off the last drip, he closely examined his penis, and mumbled to himself, "Hmmm. I think my Mr. Happy is growing! I'd better go tell my big brother!" And off he went back outside to play!
2 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoI have an adult brother who is mute, and is fascinated by computers. He is retarded, and has cerebral palsy.?
He has an assistive device that allows him to press certain buttons to have the device play recorded questions and comments.
He hates it, because it rarely allows him to communicate his thoughts and needs beyond, "I'm hungry," or other basic statements.
I have read the information on computers with touch screens, and some of the software, and found that helpful. We have access to teachers, and special education software for children to learn basic reading and math skills, but he has not shown any interest in those, because they do not allow him to communicate.
His present method of communication is self-learned. If he sees an ad on TV, he searches magazines for the same product ad, and presents the ad and his notebook and pen to someone who can write. Once the product is listed to his satisfaction, he waits until one of us can take him to purchase the item.
Still, this is not conversation, and we would like to know if anyone else has a solution.
4 AnswersSpecial Education1 decade agoWhat clear hard plastic could be molded into decorative bottles that sparkle in the light as cut crystal does?
I am a craftsperson, and want a set of decorative bottles to hold hygiene products like shampoo, bath gel, mouthwash, etc. on my bathroom vanity. These bottles have to be unbreakable, and I want them to sparkle and be pretty to look at.
3 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoWhat software programs are there for converting artwork to embroidery designs?
I do applique and embroidery and quilt piecing by hand, usually from my own drawings.
I am interested in automating these processes as much as possible, because I am losing both eyesight and manual dexterity with age.
From my investigations so far, embroidery machine manufacturers provide proprietary software with their machines, and this limits the designs to that machine. Besides, each design is a new cost. One can buy a software to convert designs into another format, but conversions often lose something in the translation.
What I want is to be able to use my own design, from one of my graphics programs, and duplicate it in cloth and threads.
Any advice from those of you who write software, or are fiber artists?

7 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoI have a sauce thickener called Miraclear, that looks and feels like cornstarch.?
It is used in canned pie fillings, because the cooked fillings will not get thin as as do those made with cornstarch when cooked twice.
I wonder what this stuff is, and how is it different from regular cornstarch?
4 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWhat is "modified Food Starch"? Are there different kinds, based on where the starch came from?
I have read in another answer that modified refers to genetically modified.
However, I have always thought it was a manufacturing process that made it somehow different than it was originally.
