  • What is the point of collecting sneakers/sneaker culture? Why do people do it?

Sneakers will eventually deteriorate liek any other piece of clothing so in a hundred or fifty years they maybe unwearable. Also, shoes are not immune to the elements and will eventually begin to smell of mildew and dust. Just like how any thing bought at a antique store or estate sale will smell.

If someone wants to invest money in something then why not invest it in jewelry or precious metals or something that will appreciate overtime so it will be worth something someday. To me, the day a pair of sneakers buys me a house is the day I start collecting them. That s how I feel about collecting sneakers and sneaker culture.

  • I don t understand why my former high school classmates are still hanging out with one another.?

It s my ten year high school anniversary this year and I was looking at my former classmates photos and for the most part they stayed together. A few of them have moved locations but they have stayed together.

Question I have is, shouldn t they have moved beyond their high school friends? When real life hits, things change - a lot of things change. People change locations, careers, get married, have kids, etc. Shouldn t they have moved beyond their high school friends? It seems that they haven t matured from high school.

  • Did Iris Chang hate America?

I was reading an article about where she was interviewed about her last book "The Chinese in America" and objection was brought up that her book wasn't American which she responded by saying people thought it wasn't patriotic to criticize the government but she countered by saying that she thought it was the most patriotic thing you can do. She also added that this book was her love letter to America.

I guess, personally, that there's a fine line between hating America and criticize. So did Iris Chang hate America at all?

  • Can someone explain to me how following works on Facebook? I'm not sure how it works.?

    1) If I follow someone, will I be able to see their posts in my news feed? I did follow someone I wasn't friends with and I wasn't able to see his posts even though when I went to his profile but I could them.

    2) Is it possible that the posts from people I followed are on a different tab on my Facebook account because I unfollowed all my friends just to see if I could see the posts from the celebrities that I followed and I couldn't.

    3) Could it be that I have to adjust my follow settings to get their posts?

  • If Yuna Kim was raised in America would she compete in 2018?

I wonder if she was born and raised or just raised in America and competed for it do you think she would compete in 2018 instead of retiring? The pressure and fame here is different compared to what she's experienced in Korea. So do you think she would of competed in 2018?

  • Does Yuna Kim still wear her rosary ring?

I watched the Olympics and it looks like her rosary ring is different, it looks gold.. She's not wearing the silver one so I'm wondering if she changed it or stopped wearing it. Also, did she bless herself before her SP and FS?

  • Will the A's ever win a World Series again?

It's frustrating and depressing as an A's fan to see the situation that we're in: we have no money, by that I mean we can't afford more talented players to help us like the Giants can; clutch players. We don't have a good stadium and that's tied into money because with a better stadium you get more ticket sales and you get more money. It's also the city that we're in because Oakland is not a rich city, it hasn't been one in a while. So it's just frustrating and depressing that the A's can't go to a World Series and win again.

  • Should there be a spending cap in baseball?

If you look at the past ten years, all the teams that have won a World Series have been big spending teams. You've had the Red Sox twice, the Cardinals twice, the Giants twice, the Yankees, the Phillies, etc. So should there be spending cap because is there a chance for a small market team like the Oakland A's, the Cleveland Indians, the Pittsburgh Pirates to win?

Can these small market teams win a World Series? i was listening to a podcast recently about why the A's can't get out of a 5 series in the playoffs and the guest on there said that they don't have the money to get players who can help them win(specifically bench players). So should there be a salary cap?

  • Why do people count out the Oakland A's in the playoffs to win this year?

Does anyone recall the 1972 Oakland A's who beat the Cincinnati Reds? If the 1972 Oakland A's were playing this year would people still count them out? Also, why is it always the East Coast or Big market teams that are expected/predicted to win in the playoffs?

  • Why can't small market teams win a World Series?

Who says that they can't win? I mean, I'm an Oakland A's fan and they're doing great right now but a lot of the pundits don't seem to think they can get far in the playoffs. Whatever happened to having just talent and having a solid team? Why do you need a lot of money to win or to get super stars?

  • Why should I still be an A's fan? Give me some good reasons?

We just lost to the Orioles tonight and it's looking glum, I'm getting depressed. The offense can't hit, the bullpen blows games, and we have bad pitchers like Straily and Griffin. We don't have any money like the Giants or other teams to get better players, we can't compete against the Texas Rangers. Lastly, the ownership can't to get any good players.

It looks like we aren't going to win the division this year and I don't want to see this team slide right back into mediocrity like they were for the past five years. So why should I be a fan of the A's if they aren't winning?
