  • Secret cookie exchange?

Once upon a time our neighborhood did a 'secret' cookie exchange. It began with one neighbor leaving a basket of cookies at the front door of another neighbor. In the basket there were cookies (of course) along with a list of neighbors. The recipient would choose one or two neighbors and leave a basket of cookies at their door with the list of neighbors to choose from. There was a cute little poem that went with the basket, and I have lost it. Does anyone have the poem or something similar that would work well with the idea?

  • If Fannie and Freddie have been "taken over" by the govt, why are their stocks still trading?

I see lots of articles referring to the govt take over of FRE and FNM, yet they continue to trade. I have read that the Preferred Stock holders have lost everything. How are they different from the common stock holders and what is expected to happen with the common stock?

  • Electrical wiring problem?

I have a house that has been a puzzle to the local electric company and other professional electricians. The lights seem to burn 'low' or dim and small appliances such as fans run at below normal speeds until some additional load kicks on. Then the lights 'brighten' and fans speed up to normal operating speed. It seems to be a whole house problem and not limited to a single circuit. For example, the A/C can kick on and brighten the lights. The A/C is, of course, on 220 circuit by itself. The refrigerator, toaster, microwave, all have the same effect. And you should see what the washing maching does on the agition cycle!! It pulses the lights in time with the agitator. Now we know why it is called the "agitation" cycle.

The electric company has tested their transformer and says it is not them.
