How much fleece do I need?
Hey everyone,
I recently got into knitting and crocheting, and now I'm looking into spinning my on yarn. Can anyone give me an estimate as to how much fleece (in lbs or kg) I need to make about 3 oz (±100g) of yarn? I wanted to start with alpaca fiber.
Thanks for your help. :)
1 AnswerHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoWill a 2GB memory card work in my Canon PowerShot A530?
When I bought my digital camera, only 128 - 512 Mb memory cards were available. Now I'm in the market for one with more capacity. I want to buy a 2Gb micro memory card, but I'm wondering whether the camera can handle it. My camera has 5.0 mega pixels, btw.
Canon tech support says: "This camera has been tested with memory cards through 2 GB. All memory card functions cannot be guaranteed."
One, what does that mean? Two, should I risk it and go ahead and buy the 2GB card or should I just stick to a 1 GB memory card?
Thanks for the help.
2 AnswersCameras1 decade agoWhat do end-user and middle-user mean?
Hey everyone,
I'm in the middle of translating an article about shiftwork investigation, and I have come across a couple of terms that I'm not familiar with. The terms are "end-users" and "middle-users" (sic). The context of these terms relates to questionnaires and how different subjects may respond. I think that they refer to individuals who tend to respond either on one end of the spectrum (always yes or no) or neutrally, bit I'm not sure.
Thanks for the guidance.
Here's the sentence: "...GHQ scoring [is] a simple method of scoring and eliminates errors due to 'end-users' and 'middle-users.'"
1 AnswerStandards & Testing1 decade agohow do i neutralize antifreeze before ingestion?
Hey everyone,
My dad's an idiot, let me just get that out of the way. A Neanderthal of massive proportions. He's a mechanic and works with toxics substances, but he ignores one almost constantly: antifreeze.
Since my parents have dogs, I was wondering if there is any product that can be mixed with antifreeze to neutralize it before we have to lament a severe casualty. I've read that you should feed your pet activated charcoal if you suspect he's ingested it. Will that work on the puddles of antifreeze left behind by cars?
It's a topic that really concerns me, and I'm constantly hounding my father to be more careful.
Thanks for the answers.

5 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agosuggestion on type of yarn?
Hi everyone,
I wanted to crochet a pot holder/oven mitt for my mom and I was struck with the question: natural or synthetic fiber?
Should I choose a natural fiber yarn of a synthetic yarn considering the temperature the mitt might have to withstand?
Thanks for the advice.
6 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agowho sings this song??
ok guys, here goes:
I have very little information on the song I'm looking for. A friend handed me a WASTED, SCRATCHY cassette tape and all I can make out is the chorus. The guy sings "far away" over and over again. I can also make out something like "I need you home". So far I know it's not from Nickelback, Anathema, Staind, Slade or Crossfade. It does sound a lot like "Far Away" by 12 Stones, but there's not enough "far away-ing".
If anyone has a clue, I greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
1 AnswerLyrics1 decade agowhat are the little things?
Everyone says: "Don't sweat the 'little things'".
I've been putting my foot in my mouth a lot lately when it comes to having arguements because I just can't seem to wrap my mind around the "little thing/big thing" concept. Can anyone give me a clue as to how I can distinguish the little things from the big things?
thanks
