  • Violin Lessons for an Adult?

I'm 19 years old now and I wish I had continued with my violin and piano training that I stopped when I was in fifth grade. I know I sound like a broken record but I'm hoping I could take lessons again. I forgot all of my initial training so I would start from the beginner level. As an adult, if I commit to practicing everyday, how long could it take, on average, before I'm reasonably okay at playing this string instrument? I want to find joy in it, not frustration.

  • Looking for an old song- the Golden key?

My dad has been searching for a specific song for the past 20 years or so he says. He heard it when he was young, around the 50's or 60's. I'm trying to find it for him. It's called the Golden Key and is supposed to be a romantic old love song. I've searched and searched for it but haven't found it. If you know it or could direct me somewhere, that would be awesome. Thanks!

  • Was it really that bad?

I just got out of the hospital a couple of days ago. I was in a really bad situation with a horse who basically squished me against a big steel rail. I'm student horse trainer/riding instructor. When I went to the first hospital, they said I had a lacerated liver and some other minor injuries and then I was transferred to another hospital and put in trauma ICU. There, my mother was told that my liver was completely cut in two parts. I was kept prepped for surgery for an entire week meaning no food or water at all whatsoever, etc. My blood was drawn and tested every five hours for a week and I was hooked up on a bunch of machines, oxygen, etc. I made it out of ICU near the end of the first week but too much stress from visitors caused my liver to start bleeding again and they put me back in ICU for the rest of the week. Just before I went back in the ICU for the second time, the doctors did what I think was an angiogram and did something with the liver. My mom claims they put staples in. I'm not sure, I was too doped to know what was going on. On that note, I was given massive doses of drugs and painkillers like dilaudid (sp?) and it took some time to wean me off it down to vicodin. I was released from the hospital with strict orders of bed rest for several weeks. Was my injury really that bad and life-threatening? Could I have died? My mom won't talk about it so I don't know. I was pretty out of it the whole time. I kept having panic attacks during my stay in the hospital, believing I was suffocating to death. I couldn't breathe and went into shock. I'm sure other things happened but that's all I remember. Maybe whole thing was too traumatic for her to discuss it or maybe she's not interested in bringing it up. I don't talk to her much. This was the most time we've spent together in several years. Anyways, it's all a big blur. Did I have a close brush with death? Or was it just your run of the mill injury that requires some hospitalization?

  • Who Likes Heather Small?

I love her music and M People. She's so gorgeous too. I'm just a pale, white-skinned girl from the country with no real talent like hers but my daughter does. She even looks a bit like heather. Same dark skin and curly hair. they're both beautiful and talented. What do you guys think about Heather Small?

  • Is this normal for a seven year old? I'm worried..?

Yesterday my seven year old daughter was playing dress up with her friend. They were dancing and singing in the living room in front of my friends and me when all of a sudden, she took off her shirt and flung it on the ground and continued dancing. She had on the top of a two piece bathing suit and a skirt, her whole midriff was exposed. It surprised me, she's seven. where did she get the idea to take off her shirt and dance and strip in front of people. My husband and I let her watch Disney Channel, and rated G and some PG movies. We don't expose her to very many different people. I'm not sure how this happened but I'm worried. Should I be worried?

  • Do you think many ASL interpreters have an attitude problem?

It seems to me that many are snotty and egoistical. For example, many perceive themselves as too good and highly skilled to interpret for K-12. What's the deal?

  • Looking back...?

When I was 15, I had a 23 year old boyfriend. We knew and were good friends with each other since I was two and he was 8 and one day (I was 15 and he 23) we decided to have sex. We kept our purely physical relationship a secret until I became 18 and his girlfriend. I have no doubt that he loved me and stayed faithful the whole time we were together. I broke it off with him at 20, a couple of years ago. Looking back on all that's happened, I'm starting to contemplate whether our relationship was a mistake. Is it a crime that needs to be punished? Was it wrong, and disgusting? Or was it something truly special shared between illicit lovers? To be clear, it was not abuse or rape. The our love affair was mutual, it just as much my idea as it was his. What do you guys think?

  • What's the name?

I've been searching for a Scottish name that sounds like "Oz" in the beginning. Anybody know names like that? A few years ago a friend of mine mentioned a name that sounded similar to "Ozondria" or something and the spelling started with something like Aus. Any links, search tips, etc would be helpful.

  • Is she crazy?!?

My twin sister and I was adopted to my parents who had three boys of their own. Well, a few weeks ago I found my sister and one of my brothers in the middle of intercourse. I just freaked out and I want to tell my parents but they keep telling me that it's no big deal. They're not blood brothers and sisters but I think they're out of their F-ING MINDS! Should I tell? Should I recommend a mental institute? Or should I hold my peace?

  • Ghostie???

I don't believe in ghosts or paranormal beings and whatnot but something strange is going on around my house! My car keys disappear all the time, I see things move out of the corner of my eye, for example if i walk past the bathroom I think i see a shadow on the toilet but nothing's there. Sometimes when i'm alone and then all the lights turn off and then back on in exactly two minutes (i timed it) Am i going crazy?!!! If it's a ghost, it's got a sick sense of humor! Funny thing is there is nothing that indicates there is a spirit. I've never seen anything funny directly, i'm very comfortable, although sometimes I get scared by a blast of cold air but i assume it's the air conditioner. Sometimes i feel like i'm being watched and it makes me run from one room to another like something's in the hallway. What's going on?
