21 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoFederal reserve question?
From an outsider looking in, this is what I see.
America needs some money.
The federal reserve loans the money to America.
America starts to make the repayments.
The money they pay was issued by the federal reserve who are the recipient of the payment.
The federal reserve print the money and charge for the privilege of doing so.
How does America get out of debt if it's costing more for a dollar than they are charging and one organization ultimately owns all the money anyway?
I could look all this up but it's more interesting hearing real opinions on it.
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhat has your elected representatives done lately to really P!$$ you off?
In Ireland, at a time of brutal cuts to health, schools, police force and the list goes on! The powers that be have decided that the car park that was put in to our house of Parliament while building work was going on is now an eye sore to the people of Dublin and needs to be returned to a lawn post-haste. http://www.independent.ie/national-news/taxpayers-...
Now I'm no politician but if I was I'm sure, in this present climate I could see that this might not be the best time to be spending money on a lawn..
Any-Who. Can any one top this for an idiot award!?

5 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhy would the Irish government want to throw the country back to the dark ages?
Irish law makes it illegal to speak blasphemy! I am an Irish citizen that is still reeling from "The Ryan Report", and the findings it published about the years of unchecked child abuse within Catholic institutions in this country and now they are updating the blasphemy laws, which seems to be nothing but an endorsement of a church/state.

Personalty I have officially left the catholic church in protest over the cover up of child abuse, my baptismal records are been changed to exclude me. More details on that topic can be viewed at http://www.countmeout.ie/ for those interested.

14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy are responsible bull breed owners still allowing ear cropping?
If you own a pit, staff or any other dog that was originally used for baiting or fighting why would you now feel the need to mutilate your pet and probably the best and loyal friend you'll ever have?
For those not in the know, the practice was introduced to reduce the chance of another animal being able to bite your dogs ears during a fight. A dog with it's ears looks way better and friendlier with there ears intact. Come to think of it a boxer and a jack russel looks better with a tail.

21 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHave you noticed the marked decline in butterfly's?
I have a tree in my garden that attracts butterfly's and bees, well it used to. So far this year I personally have only seen four butterfly's and a handful of bees. Both insects are an integral part of the human food chain yet our obsession with technology and mobile phones is wiping out our insect wildlife and ultimately our food supplies.
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden1 decade agousing coffee grounds in garden?
Our local coffee shop re-bags there used coffee grounds and gives it away for use in gardens. Can someone tell me if it is OK to use as a mix with moss peat for planting or do i need to compost it first. I had mixed some in a bag a few days ago with moss peat as it helps with water retention but when I opened the bag today to plant up some hanging baskets there was a white mold growing on top of the soil. Also, will the mold be harmful to my plants if I remix the bag and use it as it is

2 AnswersOther - Outdoor Recreation1 decade agoIf there is a god why does humanity suffer so much?
I'm not talking about the concept of free will and the suffering we cause each other but the fact that children are born with disabilities not linked to our own interference. If god did exist why is there, for example, down syndrome?
