The left side of my nose and upper lip feels swollen and numb. Also the left side of the roof of my mouth. There is no pain anywhere in my mouth. Could a tooth cause this?

while on vacation we watched a television show where people went out with medal detectors and located historical items in peoples yards and with the owners permission dug them up. they sold what they found and shared the money with the land owners. I have been being treated by my dentist for an abscessed tooth. I went in today to have it pulled and the infection is still there. I have taken Amoxicillin 500 mg for 16 days and rinsed twice daily with peroxide. Now he has prescribed Cephalexin 500 mg for 7days and rinse daily with warm salt water.

Does it normally take this long to clear up an infection or is something else wrong? I have never had an abscessed tooth before. The infection was bad in the beginning and had even spread into my neck. I am concerned and my dentist is stumped by this too, I just want to get the infection cleared up so that the tooth can be pulled, I have suffered with it for over a month. Any information you can provide would be helpful. Thank you.

We are having a disagreement in my medical lab class. Which of the following is an example of administering a medication? Giving a patient an IM injection or The doctor giving the patient samples of medication to take at home. Please only serious answers. It is in our book but instructor doesn't take it the same way we do. We say it is the injection but he says that is an injection not administering. He says the samples is because the patient is being given medication. Which of us is right? Please help.
