Three friends share a 2-bedroom apartment. Two of the friends went out of town and set up a webcam to "watch" the common areas (see more...)?
while they were gone. The friend who did not go out of town invited a relative over to repair something while they were gone. The 2 of them conversed for several hours, assuming their conversation was private. Later, they learned that the 2 traveling friends were eavsdropping on their entire conversation via computer/streaming and were hurt by some of the things said about them. One of the people who had been talking in the apartment told the traveling friends it was their own fault they got hurt from listening in on their conversation. Do you agree?
1 AnswerFriends6 years agoBlack water with black, sandy-like grit is backing up into twin basinary tubs in the basement. However...?
if I use a bucket to carry the black water to the basement toilet, it will go down the toilet somewhat slowly, but at least it goes down. Nothing comes out of the floor drains (just into the basinary tubs). We used a snake to clean out the pipe behind the basinary tubs, but they still do not drain. Any suggestions on what this could be and/or what to try next? Thanks!
2 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)6 years agoMy parents purchased a home more than a decade ago. The detached garage was built over a culvert...?
and, over the years, both the dirt and concrete have started to sink several inches. They had been told there was a process called "concrete pumping" where holes could be drilled into the concrete slab and a substance pumped under the concrete to raise it (and the garage) back up to where it could be level. However, when they had someone come out to give them an estimate on doing so, they said that it would not be possible to do, and they did not know of anyone who might be able to help them. What options might they have for having this problem taken care of in the best way with the least expense? Thanks!
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs6 years agoI received partial inherited IRA distribution (check) in 4th quarter of 2014 and the remaining portion in the 1st quarter of 2015, which has?
substantially increased the amount of taxes due. Do I owe a penalty on the amount distributed in 2014, since I did not know it was going to be distributed? (And would I need to complete a Form 2210?) Also, how do I determine my estimated taxes for 2015, since the last distribution was paid in the 1st quarter, but I already pay estimated taxes every quarter, due to being self-employed? (Do I have to complete Worksheet 2-9?) I am confused only by the additional forms than what I normally would file (if the inheritance had not been received.) Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

1 AnswerUnited States6 years agoIs it true that the Panasonic NN-SN661S microwave will not start if the door is not shut properly? I have one?
that I bought online with a "dent" on the right side of the microwave. It "seems" like the door does not close "easily," although it does close. I contacted the seller, as I was concerned there may not be a proper seal if the door does not close easily. I was told that the microwave would not even start if the door is not shut properly, so just wanted to verify this with someone who might know for sure. Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden8 years agoMy insurance company is supposed to pay 80% on claims, and I am supposed to pay 20%. This past year, they have?
often paid only 70% and show that I am to pay the remaining 30%. I didn't realize this was happening until I checked the calculations--as I ASSUMED they were always processing things correctly! When contacting them regarding the errors, they do end up reprocessing the claims and making the adjustments, but this is happening more and more frequently! When I question "why" this is happening, they tell me it has to do with the way the provider is billing for the services/procedures. When I call the Consumer Affairs Services for my state, I am told it is up to each person to check their Explanation of Benefits statements to be sure the correct amounts have been paid. Is this the insurance company's way of getting out of paying their full part of claims, hoping that people won't check their statements? If so, is there any way the providers and insurance companies can be forced to correctly bill and process claims so that the individual does not have to constantly check their statements to make sure they are right?
5 AnswersInsurance8 years agoSomeone says they are sending gift(s) for 2 occasions occurring the same week. Two separate cards arrive, one?
for each occasion. One envelope is not sealed and has nothing inside. The other envelope is sealed and has a gift card inside. Should the recipient just say thank you and not question if something was in the unsealed envelope, or ask if something was in it so if it was lost in transit, the post office can check their lost and found?
1 AnswerEtiquette8 years agoWhy are people intolerant of fat people?
Some people obviously know NOTHING about obesity and have a callousness toward those who are obese. Fat people have various reasons for being fat--some have been physically, emotionally, and/or sexually abused at some point in their life and have used food to dull their senses so they won't feel the pain, hurt, humiliation, shame, or guilt. Some have hormonal issues or other illnesses that prevent them from being thin. Some have physical restrictions that keep them from being able to get adequate exercise to lose weight. Some people have a genetic predisposition to be a compulsive overeater and, therefore, have an abnormal reaction to certain foods--whether it be sugar, white flour, wheat, or other substances. Once they ingest one or more of these substances, it sets off a physical craving in them that causes them to need more and more of it (just as a drug addict needs more and more of their substance to get the same effect). If they don't pick up the first bite of the substance, they don't have the physical cravings that cause them to desire more. Most fat people do not want to be fat. Some have taken drastic measures to be thin, such as going through gastric bypass surgery or gastric banding, and some have lost their lives or experienced bad side effects from going through such surgery. Fat people need love, acceptance, and understanding--not judgment! If buying and wearing lingerie makes them feel good about themselves, then they should buy it! There are decent men in this world who love big women--and maybe they can just love them so much that they learn to love themselves, whether they ever lose another pound or not. I am curious if those who are intolerant of fat people also judge animals in the same way. Do they think elephants and hippos should be thin? God created people in all shapes and sizes, and I would imagine part of His plan is to teach us lessons in tolerance, acceptance, and compassion when we come into contact with people who are different from us. Some people might not be fat, but they could have some inner issues that cause them to be intolerant of fat people. It would be to their advantage to get the log out of their own eye before trying to get the splinter out of a fat person's eye.
