Are Best Answers from months or years ago still counted as part of your average when they are finally announced ?
I occasionally get notices that an old answer has been upvoted (sometimes from 2 years back). When I check it is a "Best Answer". Why do I just get the upvote notice but not Best Answer; and does the best answer count towards my average percentage of right answers ? For one thing, I get no email congratulating me for a good job.
3 AnswersYahoo Answers5 years agoQuick work around for no-save Edit problem?
As soon as you save your answer, click 'Edit'. As soon as 'Edit' comes up, click save, which changes nothing. From this point, 'Edit' seems to take as usual as many times as need be, This is important to fussy posters.
1 AnswerWords & Wordplay7 years agoHas anyone noticed that the 1st Edit does not take?
I edit a post, click 'save' and notice that my edit is missing and the post is the same. The second time around it seems to take. Now when I edit I make a copy of the entire edited post, click save, see the changes are not there, click edit again, Paste my saved post back on the page, click save and it takes. After this procedure, following edits seem to hold.
This seems some kind of technical fault with the edit procedure.

2 AnswersYahoo Local7 years agoHow come I'm asked to vote on a Question I answered, BUT, when I go to the Question, My ?
My Answer has Disappeared !!?
What's up? Can a poster block you after you've answered to prevent what you said from being included with the other answers? For example, you posted so many good alternatives to buying their fragrance??

2 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoFamily matters; or Family matters! High Power Weapons Stolen from SWAT Vehicle Recovered. Is this funny?
Two high power weapons were stolen from a SWAT car parked in front of an FBI Agent's house in Andover, MA. The FBI offered a $20,000.00 reward.
The 16 year old who pulled off the theft was caught when a family member tipped the police. A family member returned the weapons to authorities. The funny part is the trailing statement that, "The FBI said that the reward offered would be paid."
Is this an ironic twist, or a comic end to a turned inside out operation, where, as in literature an in life, we see a law abiding family turning in one of their own, not necessarily for God and Country, but for . . . money ?
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoOh, The Irony!!! Stanford Professor Who Sounded Alert On Multitasking Has Died [at age 55].?
I ask you: Is it better to have worked hard enough and well enough to become a professor at Stanford and die at age 55; or to have just muddled through and still be standing at the age of 73??
3 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoClicking along and, suddenly, it's a dead end! No ‘Next Question’.?
Why can't a sophisticated site like Answers be clever enough to enable questioners to bypass the deleted item and go to the next good question ? I'd be happy to call it in and mention the fault/problem, but the powers that be apparently want no disturbance, because they make it almost impossible to get through.

“This Question Has Been Deleted” pops up. Why can't a sophisticated site be clever enough to enable questioners to bypass the deleted item and go to the next good question ?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers8 years agoHow many agree that the Web Crash is the best thing that could have happened for OBAMCARE ?
The Republicans bashed it cursed it came close to calling it the work of the Devil; the American Public was twisted and unsure; even some Democrats voted against it and had critical things to say, supported by many state governors who voted not to take their Medicare funds and other workarounds.
Now, out of the blue, the program is inaugurated and the response is so great the entire system crashes. Suddenly, the entire country (including their authorized representatives) rises up in turmoil of fury and recrimination with blame being thrown at the president and anyone else involved down to a lowly programmer. It hasn't stopped yet !!
So after the entire furor and doubting, it now seems that every body is furious that OBAMCARE is NOT getting up and running smoothly. I would say that leaves the Republican position against OBAMACARE severely weakened.

4 AnswersOther - News & Events8 years agoEver notice how many people promise TEN POINTS for best answer, then disappear from view!?
You may still win Best Answer, but it’s left up to the Voters. Winning by that 1 Vote is never as satisfying as when it’s granted by the Asker. For me, I find -- many times -- that a so-often-empty promise is more of a put-off than an encouragement to answer. Anyone else have the same feeing, after having taken time to answer a question with such a promise attached ? I will make an attempt to award the 10 points myself to a good response.
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoDoes Yahoo know that Editing is screwed up with the new format ?
When you edit, you lose spacing between lines.
If I edit this on an answer, the two sentences, on Submit, go onto the same line, like this:

Also the backspace doesn't work the same. How do you let Yahoo know?
3 AnswersMy Yahoo8 years agoWouldn't you think Yahoo Technology was sufficient to block the FLOOD of Arabic trash intrusions . . . ?
Why can' Yahoo's Thousands of Programmers come up with a simple filter to block these humongous ads for cleaning and other services that flood the board sometimes to the point that you have to go back to the topic to find a question ?????
3 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoIs the joke in the Geico ad where the pig gets pulled over and the officer . . .?
Is the joke in the Geico ad where the pig gets pulled over and asks, "is this because I'm a Pig driving a car," and the officer lets him off with a warning about his tail-light; an example of favoritism being shown an analogous driver.
(I ask this hoping that the intelligence of those who read the question will not require explanation of the analogy implied in the question.)

How many active posters have given up the use of Subtlety in their answers to questions here, on the basis that so many members of the community asking are, as yet, (to be kind) ‘unaware’ of the many links available to look up the meaning of the word.
