Clicking along and, suddenly, it's a dead end! No ‘Next Question’.?
“This Question Has Been Deleted” pops up. Why can't a sophisticated site be clever enough to enable questioners to bypass the deleted item and go to the next good question ?

You make the assumption that this is a "sophisticated site". It's not. It's a mass of spaghetti code that has been adapted, altered and "enhanced" so much that the miracle is that it works at all, much less works well most of the time.
Personally, I never use the "Next Question" link. Hate it. Just open up the very specific questions I think I can answer well.
