  • Can I give an RV away that was abandoned on my property?

I was attempting to help out a friend by letting him store his RV on my land for six months (after which he was supposed to move it). After six months, I told him to move his RV. He wouldn't. I have asked him every week for three months now to move his RV. He won't. Can I give his RV away to someone on craigslist?

  • Secluded Beaches in the Florida Keys?

I would love to fly to the beach this winter (from cold North Dakota) and stay for about a week. The only thing is that I want it to not be horribly touristy. Is it possible to find non-touristy parts of the Keys in the winter? I don't care about accommodation, as long as I have a shower. I could camp, rent a cabin, hotel, etc. If anyone has experience or advice about staying at Biscayne National Park in Florida or the Everglades, I am also interested in those places. Sorry about the vagueness of this post!! :)

  • Can your boss force you to attend meetings after midnight?

Is there a labor law that says that a boss cannot make their employees go to meetings at certain times of the day? I have a friend who works at a restaurant that closes at midnight. Usually once or twice a month, the manager will have an all-employee meeting when the restaurant closes down. The only problem is that you have to go even if you have the day off. You literally have to go to a employee meeting at midnight. It doesn't matter if you were on the opening shift, the closing shift or off that day. Is it legal to make employees go to meetings at certain times of the day?

  • What Summer Camps in California Can I Volunteer At?

I am getting the entire summer off of work this year (I'm an assistant teacher). I want to volunteer at a summer camp in California for two or three weeks. I know Camp Ronald McDonald recruits volunteers for this length of time. I'm just wondering if there are any other camps in the state that do this? I'm not looking for any specific type of kids camp--it could be a nature camp, it could be for kids with disabilities or kids from low-income families. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Want to Find Work-Exchange Programs in the US...?

Hey! I'm planning on traveling around the US next year. What I want to do is take part in a work-exchange program or volunteer program in each state that I travel through. Basically, I want to find organizations or companies that let you volunteer with them (for a short period of time, maybe 1 to 30 days in length) in exchange for free volunteer housing.

This way I can see more of the US, while volunteering and saving money at the same time.

Can anyone help me by suggesting places that have work-exchange or volunteer programs like this? It doesn't matter which state.

    Thanks!!

  • Best Beach around Panama City, Florida?

I'm going to spend a couple days in Florida next week. My boyfriend wants to go to Port St. Joe (about an hour east of Panama City, FL). Does anyone out there know of any beautiful, "hidden" beaches around that area----fort walton, panama city, mexico beach, port st. joe area? I just want to find something less touristy and less commercial. I really want to find a small hotel by the beach, but not a big, chain resort.

    Any suggestions?

  • Any Accelerated Medical/EKG/Dialysis Tech Training Programs Out There?

I've recently been laid off a job and think it would be a great time to go back to school. I am very interested in the medical field and would like to become some sort of technician (dialysis tech, cardiovascular tech, lab tech, medical tech, respiratory tech, etc). All of those jobs would interest me.

I am looking for a school that might have one of those programs in accelerated form. I am unemployed, so I would rather go to school every single day, for the majority of the day (rather than once or twice a week). Does anyone know a program out there for any of these jobs that is accelerated? I'm thinking one year or less---anywhere in the country. I already have a bachelors degree. Also, I would rather not do anything online.

    Thanks!

  • Best Place to Buy a Submersible Well Pump?

I need to buy a 4 inch submersible pump for a 70 foot well this summer. I'm not sure what the gallons per minute or the voltage info is right now, but I was just wondering where the cheapest place would be to get a quality well pump? Besides checking out Lowes, Home Depot and some plumping hardware stores in town, are there reputable companies online that would sell these for wholesale cost?

    Thanks!! :)

  • Can our Tax Accountant Legally Do This?

Ok. So my boyfriend and I started a business last year. Really we just set up a seasonal business and only made $30 before we closed for the season. My boyfriend wanted to go to an actual account to get our business taxes done. The accountant there verbally quoted us $200 total to do our taxes. Yesterday, he told us he was finished and he could submit his paperwork for $1,200. This price is ridiculous and he specifically said if the payment was over $200, that he would let us know and not continue with his services. I asked to get my W2s back and I would just bring them to H&R Block, but he refuses to let me have my original W2s back or expense report that I typed up for him on excel. Is this legal? I would almost rather have the paperwork back and have him sue me for the $1,200 rather than let him have the satisfaction of stealing money from me.

  • One Week in Central America--Where Should I Go?

Hey! I have enough frequent flier miles to go to Central America for December of 2009. I haven't done much research yet, but would love some advice. Sadly, I am only able to take one week off of work, so a country where major attractions are near the airport (or within short day trips of it would probably be the best) Any suggestions would be great!! I'm thinking Christmas to New Year.

Belize, Costa Rica, El Savador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama are the choices, of course. Thanks!

  • Holiday Time Off--Is This Legal?

My employer allows employees at my company to take up to four weeks off for Christmas with pay. Any other time during the year we are unallowed to take over two weeks off. Is this actually legal for those who do not celebrate Christmas and who would prefer to take that time off later in the year? I realize taking that much time off in December with pay is wonderful, but is this legal when it only pertains to one specific religious holiday?

  • Help me Pick an Environmental Health Project?

Hello! I just moved half way across the country to Montana to work at hospital. Part of my job is to come up with an environmental health project that pertains to patients in my area. I have a couple ideas--maybe anyone reading this could tell me their favorite idea...or give me additional topics? First off there are a lot of migrant workers here. Here are my ideas thus far:

    1) Pesticide exposure and the related health risks to farm workers

    2) Water testing near farmworker housing and the related health risks

    3) Underground storage container leaks and the related health risks

I'm putting this under homework help, even though its not really homework. :)
