  • Staying with Yahoo classic?

    Here is what I have been experiencing with Yahoo as of the last two days. Earlier this year Yahoo demanded I use their “new Beta” email service. I tried it, And can say as a legally blind user that I was not able to use Beta even with my assistive programs. Since I restored my original settings to “Yahoo Classic” I have been solicited by Yahoo on no less than three occasions to switch again, and have refused each time. Now they are practically holding my email hostage. As of August 21, I now don’t get right to my inbox. Instead I get a picture of someone’s face, with huge bold text screaming at me to switch or else. They have told me through this message that unless I switch now, I will encounter this every time I log in until September 18, a full month of this. The buttons to switch are nearly the size of my thumb, while the text link I need to click off to say “no thanks continue using Yahoo Classic” is barely regular size font and even on my assistive programs does not show up well. So I am forced to strain my eyes simply to use the service which works for me. In the past, I was able to even call Yahoo on the phone to complain, now I find no way to contact anyone at all. And I can say from talking to friends and family who use Yahoo that they are not receiving this. How can I turn off Beta's nag-ware and stay with classic?
