Indian musician associated with India's first independence day and republic day.?
Please help me with this cryptic clue: "I followed the path of my father and grandfather. But I became more famous than them. My name is accompanied by three lotuses. I played an important role in the first independence day celebration".
All this alludes to an Indian musician, name having something to do with lotus - maybe "padma". Also associated with first republic day. Not Lata Mangeshkar, M.S. Subbulakshmi etc. Please help.
2 AnswersHistory1 decade agoWhose is this quote - "The five wise men who taught me everything - what, where, why, when and how"?
There's a quotation which is somewhat like this; I don't remember the exact wording.
"Five wise men taught me everything. Their names are what, where, why, when and how."
I want to know the exact quotation and the person whom it is attributed to.
3 AnswersQuotations1 decade agoBike riding safety wisdom - covering front brake with your fingers at all times - is it possible?
I've heard this biker wisdom that you've got to learn to keep your front brakes covered during riding, and it will save you precious seconds during braking. Agreeing to all this, I've found that it's somewhat difficult to do this, since you've got to turn the throttle as well. Especially when you are turning the throttle more, it appears to me that it's plain impossible to even reach the brake lever with one finger.
Can anyone explain what is actually meant to be done about covering the front brake with your fingers?
8 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoSQL Server 2005 Management Studio Connection to Server dialog - cannot proceed?
I want to use SQL Server 2005 on my home PC. No networks, servers or anything. I've installed it and when I launch Management Studio, it shows a "Connect to Server" dialog.
Screenshot here:

I've tried entering various terms like 'localhost', 'local', my machine name etc. in the 'Server Name' box. There is no server listed in the drop-down box as well as when i try osql -L from command-line. Is there anything wrong with my install? What do I exactly need to do to get it up and running?
Thanks for specific instructions, please.
3 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoHow to tell whether a hard disk has been used previously - distinguish between factory new and refurbished?
Is there any way to tell whether a given hard disk is straight from the factory or has been used previously (a refurbished one)? Assume the seller has performed sanitization operations on the hard disk, so that you can't check and recover any data from it to indicate previous use. Is there some way, by checking the data pattern in the disk, or some other parameter, so that you are able to say with confidence that a given hard disk is spanking new, and has not been used previously on a PC.
1 AnswerOther - Hardware1 decade agoHamachi client cannot run from Windows XP limited account - is there any way?
I want to be able to run Hamachi VPN client from a limited account in Windows XP. When the client is launched, it tries to enable the virtual network adapter (which is essential for its working) but fails, probably because the operation requires administrator rights.
I've tried changing the account to a power user account, but it doesn't help. Of course, I could use the 'Run as' option to run it as an administrator, but I don't want to share the password with the limited user.
Any ways? Either auto-launching the client with administrator account (task scheduling won't work, it runs the client in the background) or giving the limited account more rights, anything that would not come to changing the account into administrator or sharing the password.
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoJavaScript/Firefox - Auto login script?
I'm trying to create a script to automatically login into my ADSL router. Now, the line looks somewhat like this:
window.location.href='http://username:password@192.168.1.1/
(where192.168.1.1 is the IP address of the router and "username" and "password" are the username and password, respectively)
But the Firefox confirmation dialog:
You are about to log into the site "192.168.1.1" with the username "username"
pops up when I run the script. Therefore, I cannot log in unless I manually press the 'OK' button in the dialog. Is there any way out, either by modifying a Firefox setting or using javascript to do the confirmation automatically?
3 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoAnt infestation in Computer Keyboard.?
My computer keyboard is infested with these small red ants which eat off everything. These are after the rubber bushes under the keys. I have faced the problem in the past and after I opened up the keyboard, popped every other key off and manually got rid of the ants many times, they seemed to stop. Now that the problem has resurfaced, I need to know if I can do something to get rid of them for good, from my keyboard.

Change/add only one character and print '*' exactly 20 times.
The first working answer gets 10 points. :-)
4 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoMacromedia Flash 8 - How do I load external images and .swf files into movie clip instances with scaling?
I use Flash 8 and Flash Player 8. When I load external images and .swf movies into movie clips instances using the loadMovie() function, the image/movie displays properly only when the target clip and the loaded image/clip are of the same size. Flash help says the loaded image/movie will inherit the scaling etc. of the traget clip, but it doesn't work.

My PC Mobo and Processor Config is given above. The FSB of the processor is rated at 400 MHz and runs ordinarily at 100 MHz. And the clock multiplier for the Proc is 16. Does it mean that theoretically it can be OC to run at 16x400 = 6400 MHz?
And anybody have any idea abt how to OC the abovesaid Proc on the ASUS P4V533 MX mobo? There aren't any options in the BIOS w.r.t the FSB.
