I got the hard drive a couple of days ago and plugged it straight into my computer and it was working fine (I didn't format it or anything.) I downloaded a whole bunch of movies last night using Bit Comet and it was still fine. Today I unplugged it and tried to play it in my TV and set top box just to see if it would work. Not an unreasonable assumption since the set top box will play movies directly from my usb. The TV won't, but plugging in the usb and trying didn't cause any damage. Neither will play directly from the hard drive but now I have plugged the hard drive back into my computer and it is like it is just not there. It doesn't show up in 'my computer' and when I started up Bit Comet all the files said 'warning - pathway does not exist.' I tried restarting the computer and then unplugging and replugging the hard drive. What else can I do without losing everything I have downloaded so far? It is 20G worth of movies so I really don't want to loose it. Hard drive is Hitachi Life Studio.

I'm at page 156 and finding too much war and not enough peace for my liking., but suspect I there may be merit in continuing. Opinions from those who have read it?

We have a huntsman living in our house (Harry.) I last saw him a few days ago, he was quite small, maybe 2.5 cm including legs. This morning I saw a Huntsman had caught and was eating something as big as its own body. I was in a hurry so didn't pay much attention. This evening I noticed this Huntsman a a fair bit bigger than Harry -25% to 30% bigger. About 4cm including legs.

Could Harry have grown this much this quickly? He would have been on a good diet as a dragonfly and grasshopper that were in the house both went MIA within a few hours of being sighted.

Is it Harry, another spider, or another spider that ate Harry this morning?

Any actual scientific knowledge would be appreciated in addition to anecdotal evidence and speculation.

Cos he spends a lot of time travelling and talking to foreign leaders - has the rest of the world noticed? (Obviously not directed to Australians. I knew we were in trouble when someone asked me if Australia is the capital of New Zealand!!!)

How do you think the world views the US? Sorry to be vague, just interested in any general issues that come to mind. The reason? General distrust on the accuracy of mass media and a lack of interaction with US citizens at this point in time. I would like to hear any opinions on this topic.
