Last July, I had surgery on three metatarsals in my left foot that had not healed in the right position after they were broken. Even now I have to put more pressure on my right foot to walk than on my left. This weekend I've had some serious back lower back pain on the left side when I try to walk...which is nearly impossible. Could this be caused by the uneven gait I've had to maintain? My doctor had told me that my foot would never be completely well, but there was nothing else that could be done for it.

They didn't show up on the initial x-rays, so I continued to work until my foot started swelling really badly. I was put on light duty at work and then released to go back to my regular job in August (without further tests).. In April of this year, my fourth metatarsal was causing a lot of pain when I walked. Another MRI showed that the first two had never healed and the third one was now fractured. I had an operation in July to repair all three. I had another one three weeks ago because one of the metatarsals didn't stay in place where he had pinned it. Now they are finally healing, but my foot is a darker color than the other one, and is going numb when I lie on my back. Does anyone know what this could be caused from?
