I have heard of using an IUD as a form of birth control but i do not know much about it. I have heard that in the past (before technology was as it is today) it may have caused problems.

Does anyone currently use this as their form of birth control? What are the positives and negatives of using this? Would you reccomend it?

I am 23 and have a daughter and do not want more children for a few more years if that helps.

Has anyone seen the news lately regarding children with ear infections... that a majority of ear infections are wrongly treated with anti biotics (doctors are too quick to prescribe them) and that they should be given time to heal on their own?

I ask because my 22 month old daughter has a double ear infection. Shes showing now signs of it and i was shocked she was diagnosed with it yesterday. She is a tough child to get meds into and shes on anti-biotics twice a day for the next 10 days.

What are your thoughts or experiences with this?

My daughter is almost 2 years old and has had a big of a cough. Its mostly occuring at night while she is asleep and i've attempted to give her cough medicine however she refuses to take it. She will spit it out or throw it up.

I'm looking for suggestions on medicines (maybe ones that dont taste so bad or that your child prefers the taste of) or methods of getting your child to take this medicine. Do you mix it in juice or something?

Who braved the stores yesterday to get their T.M.X. Elmo? It is official, I started my Christmas shopping in September this year... I'm officially a MOM! Haha... If you did make it to the stores what were the prices they were charging for this Elmo? Some people are already buying them on eBay for over $100. Craziness.

I am hoping to get into NYC soon with my almost 2 year old daughter to visit a friend of mine. I will most likely need to take a cab once i get there as its a very long walk from the trainstation and i don't trust the subways. I was wondering about the laws regarding children riding in a taxi cab. Is it law to have to use a car seat like it would be in a regular car? The cab drivers can be erratic at times and i am very against traveling without a car seat, however in all the times i've been to the city i never saw anyone lugging around a car seat.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Why is it that people feel it necessary to ask questions such as picking a screen name, which celebrity you'd rather have sex with or other random questions like am i too old to sleep with a 13 year old. Some peole are really just sick and crazy and this is the PARENTING section. Ask the questions that matter like "is {insert topic} normal with my 10 month old" etc.

I dont care what type of screen name you pick or if your image is "HOT". Get on with it people. I had to go thru like 5 pages of questions just to find a handfull of actual parenting questions.

My ex (and daughter's father) exhibits all of the signs of sociopathy. Initially upon our dating i moved in with him and he distanced me from friends and family causing me to soley rely on him yet he walked all over me. Now 3 years later when i walk away trying to get my independance, its my fault and i'm all wrong and i am scared. He has not paid me one penny for our daughter since i've left him. In fact he's asked me to help him with money. How can i use what i think may be sociopathy to help me get this child support that my daughter is owed and we need. He likes to have control and its killing me because i should not be scared to do whats best for my daughter (which is go after him for child support) however i am. Please any advice would be appreciated.
