13 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups10 years agoMy friend's mom sold a piece of land in Mexico and transferred the money to the US and bought a house cash...?
She sold the piece of land in Mexico and netted $175,000.00 She transferred the money in $8,000.00 increments to a bank account in the United States and bought a house cash for $170,000 last year. Does she have to report the sale of the residence in Mexico on her income tax return? She only earns around $10,000.00 a year including unemployment for 6 months. Won't the IRS investigate her for not reporting the sale of the property?
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoClient made a booboo on her taxes, what to do next?
I have a client who wants me to help her out. She originally self-prepared her 2007 & 2006 taxes with an adjusted gross income of $0 and $49,000 respectively. She wanted to buy a second home now that houses are moderately cheap, so her mortgage broker advised her to modify her taxes and report $53,000 & $58,000 on her two years of taxes. She went ahead and modified them and without knowing took the modified copies to the IRS office.
She bought the house because she "qualified" with the new taxes she prepared. Now she's getting letters from the IRS stating she owes nearly $25,000 in taxes.
She wants to know what she can do to get out of this mess.
Any suggestions? I'm stumped. As far as Im concerned the IRS does not like to be played with. I do not think they're going to allow her to do a 1040x and remove the wages reported on the second returns she reported.
8 AnswersOther - Taxes1 decade agoIf someone got an ITIN number for someone in Mexico and that person died, can they keep putting them in taxes?
I know people who have parents in Mexico who they have claimed with ITIN number for many years but then they passed away and they keep putting them in their taxes as a dependent. Is that possible? How will the IRS find out they are dead?
1 AnswerUnited States1 decade agoI am a real estate agent but am not registered under a broker. If I buy a house, how do I go about doing that?
When I was working for a brokerage they would tell me that I would save money because I didn't have to pay a commission to a real estate agent. Do I have to be listed under a brokerage? I contacted a mortgage broker and he said he was going to get a list of houses for me to see but I told him I have access to the MLS since I am currently a REALTOR but am not registered under any brokerage.
He keeps insisting to find a REALTOR for me. How do I buy a house without paying unecessary commissions?

1 AnswerSmall Business1 decade agoOne of my friends added Comp/Coll to his policy, got into an accident and found it was never added...?
What does he do? The agency is not holding itself responsible for not processing the endorsement to the policy. He signed a paper with the agency stating that he wanted full coverage and two years later he never had full coverage. They said the whole time he had liability only.
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoIs there a way to edit a bittorent download in process which is stuck at 99.9% to finish downloading?
I've ran into files which I'm downloading on bittorrent which get stuck at 99.9% and the only thing between that and 100% are three little pieces of the entire file. Is there a way to stop the transfer and use some sort of program to fill in the blank pieces by inputting inflated data into the blank spaces to finish the torrent so it can be useable?
I KNOW that if it IS possible, the video clips which need those three pieces on the torrent wouldnt work perfectly but at least I would be able to view the other video clips which are not affected by the three little pieces which cannot be found.

2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoQuestion about computer overheating/shutdown problems...?
I have been troubleshooting these two computers I have. They are just over 3 years old each and both of them gave out. They turn on but they overheat really fast. I noticed the heatsink fan is not spinning at all when I turn on the computer. Is it supposed to start spinning as soon as I turn it on?
I am reluctant in buying another heatsink & fan since the cost is around $60.00. Sometimes the computer doesn't start and sometimes it does and when it does it gets REALLY hot really quick.
