How can I find out how long the average mailed letter takes to go from one city to another?
In sales, I have to send out a lot of mailings, and I'd like to find out how long I should wait before following up with my customers. Perhaps a website is available? I've already tried USPS.com without success.
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoHas a Super Bowl played outdoors ever had weather that wasn't nice?
Obviously, when it comes to Super Bowls in domes, the weather's not an issue, but I wonder if any Super Bowl in Florida or California has ever had rain. Anybody know?
4 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoOf the 8 teams left in the NFL playoffs, could any lose next weekend but still have had a successful season?
As an Eagles fan, given what they've accomplished, and considering they'll be on short rest against a favorite NFL team, I feel they will have had a successful season even if they lose. Of course, I want them to win, but it wouldn't kill me if the Saints step up to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLI.
What say you?

Go Eagles!
8 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoCan you predict a timeline for 21st century space exploration?
From the present until 2100 and beyond, if you'd like. Tell me what you see happening in the next century by milestones in our exploration of the cosmos. Best answer gets the points.
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoCan anyone here help me with a Babylon 5 question?
In the first season, we find out that Babylon 4 was shifting back and forth in time. But the characters and plot changed drastically after season 1; not least of which was Sinclair leaving the show (for the most part). But during that first season, we get a preview of something that's supposedly going to happen in the future. This was capitalized on in season 3 (still with me?).
The question is this: Did JMS originally intend to have the episode involving Babylon 4 in season 3 look the way it did? If not, what was it supposed to look like?
I know it's a lot to take in, but any insight would be appreciated.
4 AnswersTelevision1 decade agoTo all Atheists: Why are you taking the time to post on this group (Please glance at details)?
Why take the time to tell anyone who believes in God and the afterlife that they are mistaken? Even if you were right, no one would listen to you. And if there is no God and life is a meaningless farce (Bertrand Russell), then why waste your time convincing anyone of anything since it all comes to nil anyhow?
Even if you are more intelligent than believers (which I don't believe), then so what? Then you'll know for sure when you're dying that you'll be going into oblivion and they won't? How is that meaningful or productive?
Why are you here? Is it because you enjoy getting people upset? Or you have nothing better to do? You're Atheists... why bother 'converting' anyone at all? What's the point?

After all, the guy they have now has as many NFL starts as I do: Zero.
What were they thinking?
7 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoI have a big criticism of a storage company and they won't listen to me. Is there a site to air a grievance?
I'm looking for a website to warn people of terrible customer service and a very nasty attitude all the way around for American Self Storage in Alexandrea, VA.
5 AnswersOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoIs there a team whose Super Bowl or Conf Champ trophies you'd like to melt into slag, and make into bedpans?
We're talking rivalries here. I have a personal extreme dislike of the Dallas Cowboys.
Who gets your ire?
9 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoWho here from Philadelphia remembers the local Saturday morning TV show "Starstuff?"?
If you lived as a kid in Philadelphia in the early-to-mid-80's, you might remember this show on what was CBS 10 at the time.
You can go to starstuff.net to refresh your memory.
(Yes, I know this is a TV show, not a something for a travel section, but this show only aired in Philly, so far as I can tell)
3 AnswersPhiladelphia1 decade agoPalmists claim to be able to read lines on the palms of the hands to tell fortunes, right? Well...?
Do any claim to be able to do the same on the soles of the feet? I mean, there are lines there, and they don't look so terribly different, right?
6 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoWe have a verbal agreement for month-to-month rental duplex; is there an official form for a written contract?
The landlord said we could stay until the apartments - which are going condo - are bought out. This doesn't seem that likely (soft market and too high an asking price). But my wife and I want to be protected.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Or, do you think a cruise around the islands of Greece is doable? Any advice would be appreciated.
8 AnswersGreece1 decade agoI have a cobb cooker that's failing to heat up properly. Any suggestions?
For those who don't know, a Cobb cooker is a portable BBQ/smoking device. Very useful when you're out camping, but it's just not heating up and I can't figure out why. Any advice would be appreciated (and rewarded with 10 points).
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoHas anyone ever seen a commercial and made false assumptions about more than just the product?
There was an MSN commercial a number of years ago featuring a woman in a hotel room talking on her cell phone to her company. She said something like "What do you mean no one wears chartreuse anymore? I'm wearing chartreuse right now!" In the shot, there was a close-up of her feet and legs in a pair of translucent stockings. So for a number of years, I thought chartreuse meant translucent, instead of the pale green color that it is. Anything like this happen to anyone else here? Oh, and you get special consideration for 10 points if you can shed any light on why MSN's commercial would have a shot that made no sense in context.
5 AnswersTelevision1 decade agoIf former President Bill Clinton had been assassinated, would Ann Couler have supported the act of terror?
Her quotes:
"We need somebody to put rat poison in Justice Stevens' creme brulee."
_"My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building," The New York Observer quoted her as saying on Aug. 20, 2002. She clarified those remarks with RightWingNews.com: "Of course I regret it. I should have added, 'after everyone had left the building except the editors and reporters.'"
Aside from the obvious politically charged comments that she is accustomed to spewing, I find these statements, even if flippantly made, to not only be in poor taste, but in support of the same violent radicalism that she claims to oppose.
I think they beg the question, if someone who opposes her viewpoint in the most absolute terms had been murdered, would she applaud the act?
